  Best priced and newest hotel in LaPorte

  In town visiting family, 2 year old hotel, very clean and modern. Good size bathroom, no bathtub ( which is OK with us). One of the cheaper rates in the area. Normally stay at another hotel but will start staying here in the future.

  Very clean hotel. Second visit and I will return!

  This was our second time staying in this hotel this year. It smells and looks clean from the moment you walk in the front doors until the time you check out. We stayed in a king suite (room 325) and everything was as good as we could expect. The only sound we ever heard from other guests was the closing of a room door right next to us and that sound was heard through the door, not through the walls. Shower pressure was very good but not great. Not low enough to ding any points but I personally prefer a little more water pressure. The only real room complaint I have is that the room darkening shade wouldnt close all the way so in the morning we had some light coming in early. The shade was about 1-2 away from the bottom track and I pulled the chain very hard to see if I could get it closed all the way with no avail. This should be fixed! We had the pool to ourselves and it was clean and very warm. They may need to do some general maintenance in the pool area because the ceiling support posts were rusted at the floor and the exterior door hardware was also pretty rusted. This should be part of a maintenance routine and it surely didnt start rusting over the course of a week or so. This area just needs some cleanup as it has been neglected a little. Its not the type of thing you have to squint to see, there is a lot of rust. The managers are ignoring it because its impossible to miss. I wish they had a hot tub but ya cant have everything! Overall this hotel is great and I will return.

  Hearty breakfast during Covid!

  Ok so my husband & I have traveled for a week staying at different hotels. NONE of them offered a hot hearty breakfast with eggs & sausage or biscuits & gravy due to Covid. Most hotels have been reduced to the Grab & Go pre-wrapped pastries & fruits. Holiday Inn Express HAS FIGURED THIS OUT!! They have all the breakfast food in a separate room with a shield at the door & there is a wonderful lady named Linda that will retrieve anything you want. No contact with the food, & they have cheese omelets, sausage patties, & biscuits & gravy!! GENIUS!!! All other hotels can learn from you guys!! Rooms were EXCELLENT & clean, service was great!!

  Great price for an EXCELLENT stay!

  My husband and I recently attended a wedding in LaPorte and stayed at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites LaPorte. With COVID on the rise we were a little concerned before arrival about our safety with a hotel stay. Well, I can say our worries were quickly washed away as we were given a room upgrade by Nikki and could not believe how clean and comfortable our room was! It was the nicest mattress we have ever slept on in a hotel! We both got the best sleep and felt completely safe, comfortable and taken care of while at the hotel. Thanks again to Nikki for helping us out and making our stay one we will never forget!

  Awesome

  Driving to Chicago and had to pull over because the snow was so bad on 80. Looking for the closest area with hotels, La Porte popped up and I decided to choose this hotel because it looked the most promising. After being in the car for hours and not having any visibility on the road, I wanted a room that was going to feel nice. This place is definitely nice, checked in around 730PM and there was a line with others coming from the road too. The guy at the desk was nice and managed the line well, which was also appreciated. Getting to my room was easy and he shared where parking would be the closest to my room. The rooms are big, nice, comfortable and really had everything I needed, and with a bonus microwave to boot. Was happy to take a shower and relax, products they had were also on the nicer side and they had a hot breakfast available which was pretty great. There was a very nice and friendly woman who took down what you wanted with the buffet area behind her, and she put everything on a plate/container for you to take to your room or sit in the surrounding area. I felt pretty confident about it being covid safe and I think its a fine way to operate a hot breakfast. If youre ordering takeout, then this is just as good, if not safer. Id come back to this property no question, very impressed to find this quality in the area.
