3rd floor or bustI'm not going to beat up this hotel because it really is a nice place to stay. We just learned that the next time we stay here, its the 3rd floor or we make sure the room above is empty. We were blessed with a whole family above us who ran around till I finally went up there at 11pm and asked nicely if the kids could slow down. In which they did. The 2nd night was nice until 5:30am when the family got up to pack/leave. It's not the hotels fault. It's the fact that these are the thinnest floors I have ever witnessed. So, just beware. Otherwise, as I said before, this hotel is very nice. Pool was well chlorinated and the breakfast offering was great. We will go back, but only with a top floor view.

Fall color tripIts Sunday morning and I found the only clean table at 6:45. The gal running the breakfast should be fired, she wasted time at the front desk talking about how she likes to work but doesnt need too. Talked about having a smoke and pulling the eggs. She sees a guy pacing around and asks him if he needs something to which she finally opens the breakfast at 7:08 to which one person gets served at a time! We went to Bob Evans. The tables shouldve been cleaned and opened at 7:00!

Novak Family fall tripVery happy with the hotel, very clean and nice. Breakfast was really yummy, eggs, cinnamon rolls, sausage links, juice, coffee and more. The beds were comfy, and the room was clean. Staff wore masks and due to covid this was the first time having hot food.

DO NOT STAY HERE!This was the worst hotel stay ever. First off they allowed my mom to check in under our reservation, when she had her own separate reservation. They gave her our room and it was awkward to tell them to move into their room after they had already unpacked. I paid for a king suite and the pictures that were shown in the booking did not match with what we got. We were supposed to have a separate bedroom from the living room, so our daughter could sleep in her own space and of course we didn't. My parents room had food glued to the walls that was not cleaned up. The staff DID NOT wear their masks. There were several occasions when the receptionist had no mask on, or the women serving breakfast in the morning. One of the breakfast servers didn't even bother putting on gloves while she was serving food. It was just disgusting, especially with COVID going on. You would hope they at least washed their hands. They did not follow any COVID rules, which made it very concerning. They seemed very understaffed and careless about their customer service. The receptionist was never at the desk during our 5 day stay. We always had to holler for them and hope someone would come to the desk. If you can find another place DO NOT stay here!!!

Nice, modern Holiday Inn Express.I've stayed at quite a few Holiday Inn Express properties over the years, and this one in Gaylord is one that's part of the chain's current, modern style. My husband and I stayed here on a Friday and Saturday night in January 2021 during a ski weekend we spent in the area. (This property is actually identical to another one we'd stayed at a few weeks beforehand in a different part of Michigan.) Overall, we were quite pleased. The hotel is pretty nice. Our check-in process went smoothly, and our room (#104) was clean and comfortable. There are some things that are being done differently during the COVID pandemic; the main thing is that the staff serve you your breakfast items and you have to take them back to your room to eat. Breakfast was acceptable, which we took advantage of one of the two mornings we were there. This hotel also has some other nice amenities, such as an indoor pool and a business center. We did not have time to use the pool, but the one thing we wished it would have had was an indoor hot tub in the pool area (I guess some newer hotels are doing away with those hot tubs for some reason). I really appreciated being able to use the business center computer for catching up on my social media during our stay. All in all, this was a nice hotel and I would have no qualms about staying there again the next time I'm in Gaylord.
