Retail SalesDelivering Pizza to Stores.Like Walmart Hyvee Fareway. Super Target. I enjoy meeting new people at the store like the frozen manager and I also like to go to different towns to meet people at stores like the managers for that store.

Impressive - Not your Holiday Inn from years back!First, let me explain - I am a loyal Hilton Brand customer for many years. There were no Hilton Brand names in Fort Dodge so we signed up with Holiday Inn Express. Every single one of the hotel folks was very friendly and helpful. At breakfast, they would stop at your table and talk with us. The breakfast was very good, good assortment, some of almost anything you wanted. The hotel is 6 years old, but very well kept up and really clean and organized. The room - CLEAN, comfortable, relaxing, no noise from the adjoining room. The bed was OK but made up great every day. I was very impressed.

Very clean hotelWe stayed here for one night on our way to South Dakota. This hotel was off the main highway a bit but it was very clean. The room was very nice with a great bed that was very comfortable. The shower was awesome! They did not have a hot breakfast due to covid which is understandable but I feel the rate could be discounted a bit because of that. They had a grab and go type breakfast with very yummy cookies! All in all a great hotel if youre passing thru Fort Dodge.

Maybe pet-friendly, but not people-friendly.I'm traveling from IL to WY, with my 95 year-old mother, her cat, and my dog. I check into this hotel, because it is more expensive than the others, thinking I will provide my mother with a more luxurious stay. At check in, I explain that I have a cat and a dog. The person at the front desk blurts out "we don't take cats". which is fine, but she was cold and aloof, and could have said something like "sorry, we ...". She pushed a document towards me and said, again coldly, "sign here". The document stated that the charge for the pet (dog) was $50.00 registered and $100.00 unregistered, which I did not understand. When I asked, she simply said " The $100.00 is if you try to sneak your cat in". Wow! Guilty upon checking in! I can't describe how cold an unfriendly this person was. When I complained to her about her attitude, She responded, "Sorry, I'm just doing my job". Seems like I heard the same response watching WWII documentaries. There are about 6 cars in the parking lot, so business is not exactly booming here. I would think that in a troubled world like the one we are living in now, customer service would be increased, that business people would go out of their way to make their customers feel good and get return business. Maybe I am overreacting to this situation, but for an expensive (%50 more than most of the surrounding hotels), and a nice, but average-nice room, that the staff would try and project some warmth and make the customer feel like he/she are welcome. In this case, I felt like I was unwanted and unwelcome. After this, I don't know if I will ever stay at a Holiday Express Hotel again. Certainly not this one.

Oasis in the winterThis hotel was a stop on the way across the country for us. We had a few bad nights in hotels that were sadly seeing the effects of Covid in the form of dilapidated rooms and poor housekeeping. Whenever we travel with our dogs we are aware of the limited choices of rooms, particularly suites that are offered. When I reserved the room here I was expecting the same experience as the previous hotels but I was delighted to find the Holiday Inn Express was bright and shiny with immaculate surfaces and kind staff. Our suite was a kind relief after so many disgusting nights and resembled what hotels used to be before they had to cut housekeeping so severely. I just wanted to thank the staff for providing the respite that we so needed. We will stay here again if we drive this route.
