  Nice Stay

  Tried a different route to Fl vacation and stayed in Albany to break up the trip. Selected this hotel for my rest stop and was happy to find I made the right choice. Hotel was updated with a pleasant front desk area and professional staff. Room was quiet, clean and restful. Breakfast was good with many choices. Plan to stay here on future trips.

  Quality is going down

  Since opening, this was my goto hotel when visiting the area because the other hotels are losing quality. This stay has me questioning whether I should find another hotel. The rooms were clean... however the carpet throughout the hotel needs a deep cleaning. The bed was comfortable and the hot shower was refreshing, but there was mold surrounding the door. The pillows were well used. The towels are worn and the linen was well used. Linen should be refreshed. There need to be more outlets and usb ports in the room, but I find that as a design issue in all Holiday Inn Express' that I've stayed in. There were stains and spots on the walls. The door were dirty. Even the outlet covers were dirty. The breakfast is the typical fare. The hostess was very slow to keep the food refreshed and the sausage was a pale gray and the eggs were burnt. I stayed 2 nights and there was not a change in the food quality or service. There should be at least 2 people working the breakfast area on the weekends. My son loved the pancake machine, though.

  Overall good but problems with details.

  Extremely pleasant staff from start to finish, a lobby with warm, personalized touches and a clean, comfortable room with great mattresses. When I called for a second luggage rack, the clerk didn't know what that was. When I explained, they said the hotel had only one per room, and there were no more. The third floor ice machine doesn't work. Discovered by accident (on another site) that it hasn't worked for more than a month. And - this is minor, but annoying when trying to hang something - the hook on the bathroom door rotated downward when weight was on it, very loose on its base, and when I put it upright to try again, the hook fell out of its base. I reported that to the front, and they said they'd fix it. They put it back in the loose, rotate-happy base, and the problem persisted through the stay. A pancake machine for breakfast, and one morning some very crisp bacon. Interestingly, no cream or half and half for coffee, just the fake stuff; skim milk is in the chill case with yogurt and boiled eggs. Be aware that the sink and tub stoppers rotate on an axis, rather than going up and down; that can catch one unawares, no big deal but potentially confusing. This is among the most expensive properties in town, to judge from rates here on TA. A little more attention to details is warranted.

  Broken toilet No hot breakfast

  The toilet is not even glued to the floor when you use it it comes up on each side. Not hot breakfast at all and thats what we love about holiday inn express. We paid at least $30 more just so we could eat the breakfast here. At 8:00 nothing but cereals and yogurt. An orange and milk. Breakfast lady snapped at my niece for touching a cereal box she didnt know otherwise. Very disappointed for the price we paid. Id stay at the courtyard Marriott if I were you its much better. We have stayed at the Albany one only switched for the breakfast that doesnt even exist over hear. They were a lot more friendly at the courtyard.

  Worst hotel experience ever! Rooms are disgusting!

  After being moved to a 2nd clean room I couldnt stay. I was treated poorly and there was a worm on a towel, small red bugs and pubic hair in the bed. I was promised a full refund and they finally refunded the 4 days I didnt stay but still charged me for the first night. The pictures dont even come close to showing the filth. I took 2 videos but cant get them posted here. I booked this hotel because they have an indoor pool. After they checked me in they told me that the pool was shut down due to COVID. I understand we are in a pandemic but they should have signs posted and let guests know before checking in. My family has always been loyal to Holiday Inn because they are consistently reasonably priced and clean. I was so upset with the way I was treated I was crying in the lobby trying to get ahold of the agency I booked through. They could care less. I will never stay at a Holiday Inn again. Worst customer service I have ever experienced.
