Never again will we stay here.Front desk people were unfriendly, bossy acting to guests. We vids not even get in the door and the manager lady was barking at people about COVID 19 crap. Room was decent, but the unfriendly attitude of the staff is terrible.

Be VERY clear when booking your roomWe stayed in this hotel in Alamosa to get away from our town for one night and we booked this hotel because we thought that in comparison to other hotels that accept dogs, this was the best one... We chose to pay more because we thought they would provide a better room than the other hotels but in all honesty, and after experiencing this hotel, I would pay less to stay in the others. I gave the hotel 2 stars because the room was clean and the breakfast was good. The problem was the room... we stayed in room 130. DO NOT book that room. It is located right next to the door and stairs and you can literally hear EVERYTHING. We could hear the guest who was above our room walking as if he was in our room, using the shower, everything.... the noise kept us up all night and we could not sleep at all. I went the next morning to talk to the manager on duty at the front desk and provide feedback. She told me "You are the first person who complain about this room and you must be very sensitive to noise" I told her that when you book directly through the hotel, they are supposed to provide you with the best available rate and a good room. She told me that because we wanted a soak in tub that was the only option they had available in the entire hotel and I told her that in that situation then they should alert the guest that the room was going to be noisy. I was not asking for compensation, I was there just to provide feedback and she told me that there was nothing physically they can do about it. the service at the hotel and the room ruined the entire experience for us. So, be careful...

Very clean but outdated and in need of exhaustive renovationThe Holiday Inn Express in Alamosa is conveniently located off the main highway in and out of town. My room and all of the public spaces were generally very clean. Staff were polite, though the front desk staff at check-in and check-out were not terribly hospitable. I was never greeted at check-in by name (as in "Mr. XXX") nor was I ever thanked for staying. I also wasn't asked how my stay was at check-out. Breakfast was better than some hotels. Most of the usual Holiday Inn Express offerings were available, except it had to be served to you. My only complaint about breakfast is the coffee should be available at 6 a.m. My biggest issue with this hotel is it is outdated by 4 or 5 years. 1) The combination shower-bath tub was really scratched, stained and grimey. This was perhaps the most obvious indicator that the hotel hasn't had an exhaustive, floor-to-ceiling renovation since it first opened around 2005. 2) The TVs in guest rooms are from 2010, as in 10 years ago. 3) Some of the furniture and curtains are fraying, scratched, or stained. 4) There aren't enough accessible electrical outlets and USB outlets. Lighting is poor. You literally have to turn on three or four lamps because there is no central overhead lighting or controls. 5) The sofa that was in my room looked like something from my grandmother's house or a hotel from the early 2000s. Also, as is this is an older Holiday Inn Express there is no pantry. New Holiday Inn Express (and newly renovated) properties have a pantry with snacks, soft drinks, etc. I also thought it was odd the hotel didn't provide copies of the local newspaper. 6) Some of the wood trim in the hallways, guest rooms and other public spaces was showing its age. Likewise for parts of the wall and ceilings, which were obviously patched over. Additionally, this Holiday Inn Express has toiletry dispensers for shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. While this is a cost-savings move dressed up in environmentalism, it is dangerous and unsafe. The CDC says these dispensers spread COVID-19 and other dangerous viruses and bacteria. They are unsanitary. I probably wouldn't stay here again because the nearby Fairfield Inn is newer and offers a better value.

Very Nice PlaceWe spent the night here on our way to Denver. It is exactly what you would expect from a HIE. Comfortable beds, good pillows, clean rooms. The breakfast was pretty pared down due to covid but I did not starve. As usual the coffee was pretty sketchy. I definitely recommend staying here.
