  Great place, great people

  We were traveling and made our reservation ahead of time. When we arrived, we were greeted and treated very nicely. The hotel is 2 years old and still had that new smell to it. Clean and inviting lobby. Free breakfast which was great. Good coffee! The room was big. We had a king sized comfy bed. Great nite sleep. On our way out, we asked if we were still members of ihg rewards. We were and Monique at the front desk took wonderful care of us! She was a real hospitable woman and treated us fantastically!! We highly recommend staying here for any reason. The hotel is right off I 85 and next door to a Loves gas station. We would say that everything about this hotel was fabulous!!!

  Great hotel in between DC area and Charlotte area

  We were traveling from the DC area to Kings Mountain, North Carolina. South Hill ,Virginia.is about half way. We stopped at the Holiday inn Express. It is 2 years old. , It was clean and quiet and we were able to get the government rate. Check in was a breeze friendly service. the bed was comfortable. They had a mini gym and indoor pool and a small office Center. the breakfast was okay. There was a variety of all types of cereals, toast, bagels, pancakes, bacon etc. It served its purpose. The hot tea was good. I would highly recommend this hotel.

  weekend stay

  I always stay at this hotel when ever I am in town. When I arrived at the hotel on Friday night I met a wonderful lady at the front desk named Monique. The hotel was overbooked and I had made my resveration 4 days before arriving. Monique was very professional and helpful she was able to get me into a room. I was in town for a funeral and it was nice to be greeted and treated with the kindness that she showed me. I will continue to stay there because she is on the staff there.

  Just what a traveler needs

  I travel a lot and stay in 10-20 hotels a year. One of the advantages of being a frequent traveler is the opportunity to experience many different hotel brands. Holiday Inn Express has emerged as a good place to stay because of the consistency across different HIE hotels and the great breakfast (try their cinnamon rolls). However, my recent stay at HIE in South Hill surpassed all my expectations. While the evening desk clerk Mona was not especially welcoming during check-in, the morning desk associate Tionna went out of her way to help me with a travel issue that came up that changed my travel plans. She looked for ways to help accommodate my change in travel, and as I result I was able to head to my destination refreshed and relaxed. It is associates like Tionna, who strive to assist guests that helps hotels win customer loyalty. HIE is now my first choice hotel when I travel

  Clean, comfortable and quiet.

  I was a little worried when I arrived as the hotel is right next door to a Love's travel center that was very busy. Bro trucks with lift jobs and ground effects hanging out in the lot. It appeared to be the hangout spot for South Hill. I checked into the hotel. It looked very new. The clerk told me that the property is only three years old. The room was very clean and in excellent condition. The bed was very comfortable and it was quiet. I did not hear any noise from next door, nor any traffic noise. They are serving limited breakfast at this point. There is a table across the entrance to the food serving area. You tell the attendant what you want and they bring it to that table. Tables in the lounge are appropriately spaced for social distancing. They had fruit, yogurt, cerial and hot oatmeal. Overall I was very satisfied and would stay here again.
