  Modern style hotel in the heart of Seoul

  This was supposed to be a budget stay, however, this hotel went beyond my expectations. From desk staff was amiable and attentive. Located close to the famous Hongdae street this hotel becomes a perfect place to start exploring the city. As usual for Holiday Inn Express hotels, everything in the room is designed thoughtfully to provide the maximum in a limited space. The only problem I had was the airconditioning system which was set up on a low T and I wasn't able to change it, so it was a bit chilly in a room.

  Best Value and Great Hotel

  This is 2nd times to stay this hotel, I am gold member of IHG. I love this hotel, best value, room size is OK, modern design and clean. And location near by subway and Hongdae street shopping area. I will stay here again for next time travel Seoul

  Would be back

  Fantastic stay Im a ihg platinum member and when I requested a bigger room the receptionist was more than happy to help!! One of the best hotels Ive stayed in Seoul!! Great customer service just like what an ihg hotel should be like! Breakfast was good and got everything needed! Location is great, just next to the station!! Shopping mall with huge convenient store downstairs Will come back again Thanks so much holiday inn Seoul

  You get more than what you paid for

  Honestly, when I first booked a "Holiday Inn Express" I did not expect much, but it was during their opening period and the prices were lower than other hotels in Hongdae. I'm so glad I booked it. I believe I booked a Family Room for the price of a Standard during Jan of 2019. Anyways, upon arrival, I was in instant shock. I've never stayed in a Holiday Inn in Asia before, but now I know, Holiday Inns in Asia are like 3-4 star hotels in America. Usually Holiday Inns in America are dodgy and are like 2 star motels. There is a shopping mall on the first floor of this hotel building and there's an entrance to Hong Ik Station literally 10 seconds away from the door. The lobby was big and grand. The standard room is quite small. It would be a little tight for 2, but not that bad. I definitely feel that the twin bed room is bigger than the double bed but I don't know if that's just me. What's amazing is that every guests gets free breakfast daily. I've never woken up early enough for that but I heard it was pretty good considering the price. The staffs are also very friendly. The second time I went back, they even gave me a free gift: A transportation card with Holiday Inn Hongdae as the picture. There is no real upgrade for Platinum members, but I requested a high floor both times and got it without a problem. I'll be back for sure.

  IHG App is misleading -- just be aware that there is no parking available (But I offer a tip!)

  My wife and I live in Korea and were looking for a cheap staycation. We got a reservation at this Holiday Inn Express for only 60k KRW. What we didn't realize was that there is no hotel parking, much less to say free hotel parking. (The IHG app just says "Parking:" but it would be clearer if it said "Parking: None". The parking lot just next door to the hotel costs 50k KRW per night! When we asked the ground floor hotel staff about parking, they basically just shrugged their shoulders and smiled. We ended up getting lucky because a friend was able to lend her work parking spot to us during that weekend night. Pro tip: However, *IF* you're checking in around Sunday noon, and need cheaper parking, there is a small "GS Times" parking lot (~20 parking spots?) next to the 7-11 next door to "Jin Jin Ga-yeon" (Google Map it, it's a Chinese restaurant), which is about an 8-minute walk away from the hotel. It's only around 20k KRW per 24 hours. On Sunday late morning there were plenty of empty spots available. (You can get an idea of the parking lot if you Google Map "Jin Jin Ga-yeon", drag the yellow Google man onto the map, and search for the 7-11 next door.) Aside from this parking issue, the hotel stay was cost effective. Our standard room was a bit small, true. But otherwise, very clean, English-speaking, great location, a 5-story mall in basically the same building, including a swell & chill (but a bit plain) 7th floor rooftop cafe with an outdoor 360-degree view of the city. A great hotel stay especially if you are traveling in by metro/bus/taxi. But if you want the convenience of parking next to the hotel, this hotel should be compared to other 110k KRW (per night) hotels nearby (e.g. the Amanti, which has a pool too).
