  Final 4 Volleyball

  Stayed December 14th thru 16th for 3 nights for Final 4 volleyball tournament. Stayed in Room 323--front side of the building-faced the parking lot. We got there around 12:30 p.m.-had to wait around 15-20 minutes for our room to be ready-were able to check in early. Staff at the hotel were all very friendly!! There was a microwave, refrigerator, and flat screen TV. We had King size bed-was also a desk and desk chair; side chair; K-cup coffee maker. The toilet and tub/shower were in it's own room with door on it--the sink area was part of the room area, room was nice and big. There is no ice maker on 3rd floor--we brought out own cooler since we were going to be there so many days-so had to go to 2nd floor every day to get ice. Breakfast was basic stuff every day--pancake maker, pastries, warm cinnamon rolls, scrambled eggs, biscuits, gravy, sausage patties, oatmeal, cereal, coffee, etc.--was well stocked and tasted good... We had housekeeper Tavga--was very nice and got us whatever we needed--we found out the coffee maker was broken 1st morning there-she got us a new one--I always ask for extra wash cloths and she always brought plenty. The only downside: very thin walls--we could hear the neighbors TV playing late at night, and then their very annoying rooster crowing alarm that started going off at 7:00 a.m. the next day--every 10 minutes--until we left for breakfast at 8:30 it was still going off--the neighbors on the other side coming back in the middle of the night and talking loudly; and one night someone banging on a room door for like 5 minutes trying to get in.....didn't sleep well the whole weekend because of these people. We did end up unplugging the fridge after the first night also--was very loud as it did it's cycling all night long--and since we had a cooler, we didn't need to use the fridge. Also had problems with the plugs on the desk for charging phones--the plug was on the side of the lamp, and wasn't tight enough to hold the plug in it to charge--had to use the plugs on the lamps at the sides of the bed, as they plugged in from the top, so the charger would stay in the plug.

  Disappointed

  This is our 8th Holiday Inn stay with 2 more to go. After a very long drive, we arrived about 8pm ready for a good night sleep. When we entered our room, it smelled like an ashtray. Yuck!!! The tile floor at the entry by the sink was sticky - our shoes stuck to it! Again, yuck!!!

  Tired, Smelly, Drab, Noisy, Expensive

  Stayed here for two nights and it really isn't a very nice place to stay. There's nothing 'dreadful' about it, it's just all very tired and seems to be much older than it actually is. The AC unit in the room was like tractor running in the corner, the Ice machine area near the lifts smelled of mould and to pay 300 dollars for two nights was really a joke. Hopefully the renovation work that is going-on will lift the standard higher than it currently is. The staff were all pleasant, friendly and helpful.

  Repeat Traveler!

  We were taking a road trip and KC was the halfway point. We stayed here a few years ago and we didn't have a problem so we thought we would try again. I checked the site on my phone and the website said that they had no King rooms available. However I called the hotel and sure enough they had a cancellation so we were able to book right there over the phone. The front desk (who also booked us over the phone) was sweet and professional. She even upgraded our room for free! Room was clean and well worth what we spent. Breakfast was free and filling. The breakfast attendant was friendly and chatty. The front desk man when when checked out was kinda rude and it seemed like we were putting him out. We will gladly stay here again!

  Come again...yes I will!

  My husband and I stayed for 2 nights and we were very please with our stay. 1. Room on the 3rd floor - clean, plenty of towels, spacious. The space was a selling point as we did not want to be cramped while we are dressing or ironing clothes. I loved the lounge chair area which gave an additional sleep option for those restless sleepers. The bed was soft and the pillows were great! 2. Shower - pressure was perfect, not too hard, not too soft - massage like feel 3. Breakfast - hot and a good variety. Pancakes, biscuit and gravy, fruit, turkey or traditional bacon options to name a few. 4. Parking - we have a big truck and I like the space available for parking 5. SERVICE - we were extremely late and I loved how the front counter was waiting for us. They greeted us each time we entered the front door and when we were leaving. The cleaning crew was very nice and accommodating. When we go to North Kansas we will be staying in this hotel again. I recommend for anyone looking for a comfortable stay away from home.
