  Terrible COVID-19 location

  While the room and staff was good the Covid practices were awful. Staff in the breakfast room not wearing masks. People setting up food in the food buffet not wearing any masks or gloves. At the height of the pandemic this place services as a prime example of why the virus is spreading.

  Disappointed

  We are avid fans and stay at Holiday Inns 99% of the time and this one disappointed us. From the covid sign on the door when we walked in I was turned off. I later learned it was put wthere by the health dept. The luggage carts were rusty snd rickety was a giveaway it was an older hotel needing an update. Bc of covid there were hand sanitizer stations all over but most were empty. My son discovered a wad of hair under the desk like someone cleaned their hairbrush and threw it there so it was obvious vaccuuming didnt happen well. The beds seemed old and droopy bc I had the worst back ache when I woke up. Just the paint chipping, etc worn carpet, gave the impression its needs updating. Housekeeping knocked on our door 3 times to clean and we kept saying to them we werent ready. When I passed house keeping they were not wearing a mask!! I was disappointed. Shower curtain rod was about to fall off the wall according to my husband. Did speak with front desk about our Concern and she said she would mention them to the manager and cTall me back which I was please d the she did. It was awesome that she followed up!! She told me sthe had spoken with the manager and shared our concerns. Would possibly stay this hotel on the future. She did notify us and apologies and gave us some points

  Excellent HI Express Hotel

  Excellent neat, clean, quite and comfortable HI Express at Madison Georgia. The staff is very warm and welcoming. The rooms were spacious and comfortable I highly recommend this hotel when visiting the area

  BED BUGS GALORE!

  BED BUGS GALORE! I specifically selected Holiday Inn Express based on the current 4.5 star google reviews compared to nearby hotels. Im also happy to write a positive review even when the minimum expectations are not met but managers and/or staff make the right call and remedy a situation. In this case, I had made reservations for my road tripping husband and our kids to rest as it was their half way point to NC. Immediately, upon entry into the room, it was apparent that the room had not been properly vacuumed, the room was littered with random loose garbage and even then, my family were still getting ready to settle in for the night. My daughter pulled back the cover on one of the beds and saw a large bug crawling across the white sheet and called to her dad who then realized it was one big bed bug. After that, they inspected the room to find bed bugs behind the mattress, ON THE WALLS- at this point I was on the phone with my daughter and told her and my husband to take pictures of everything. My husband went down to the lobby to request a new room and some sort of comp. The lady at the front desk was polite enough but it was obvious she had no decision making authority and had to get a manager on the phone to even request a refund and then get permission to authorize a new room except that at that point, there were no more rooms available. So its 11pm at night and my husband and kids are without a hotel room and its, Were sorry, we have a sister hotel about 15 minutes from here that you can go to. There was no attempt to even pick up the phone or even try to turn this whole experience around. It was just a S.O.L. with a smile to say the least. Meanwhile I am fuming from afar and its really disappointing to see the lack of hospitality given our current state and I thought this would be a great halfway point for future stays whenever we travel to NC. Pictures are worth a thousand words- Ive attached. I did end up making reservations at the nearby Hampton Inn. Definitely a step up and I would recommend.

  My stay was ok, but odd

  I have stayed at this hotel before, but this time during the pandemic. Even though GA has strict mask rules, very few of the employees wore masks and that made me uncomfortable. Also, I called and requested an ADA room in advance and was informed on arrival, it was not available. The room was fine, it was clean, they had full breakfast and I was again suprised since most hotels with breakfast at doing grad and go. Our stay was ok....
