Nice relaxing stayThis is a lovely hotel in the charming village of Hoylake on the Wirral. This was our second visit and, as previously, we had a nice relaxing stay. Excellent breakfast too. We will definitely be back soon !

Parking finesMyself, my wife, our daughter & 2 grandchildren booked into the Holiday Inn, in Hoylake (the Wirral) for a 2 night stay which had been pre-booked on line... On arrival we parked in the hotels spacious car park (there weren't many cars there). When booking in, we specifically asked the receptionist on no less than 3 occasions whether we had to provide them with our car registration number details - the receptionist clearly said "no there's no need to", on one occasion she said "it's all taken care of", so we didn't ask again... When checking out we paid the bill and again we asked "was there anything we owed them for parking" the receptionist said "no". The receptionist serving us seemed to be as dull as dishwater - blunt and cold, demonstrating little personality! After returning home, a few days later we received a letter through the post from a company called "Parking Eye" saying we owed £100 for parking illegally in the Holiday Inn car park. On contacting the hotel and complaining, the person that answered the phone said "she'd deal with the matter" and that we would probably receive more notifications but just to ignore them - she said she'd contact the parking agent working on behalf of the hotel. Over the course of the following 2 weeks we received a further notice of illegal parking at the hotel plus two reminders, which brought the total to £200 owed by us. When contacting the hotel and asking to speak to someone who was in charge of management, the person we eventually spoke to said our original phone call had not been acted upon and that she would send an email to the parking company asking them to cancel the fines. When my wife asked for us to be copied in to any emails, the hotel staff member said "it wasn't company policy to copy guests into such emails or correspondence. So we had to contact the hotel three times in total to have the fines cancelled, fortunately we haven't heard anything since. Frustratingly we never received either a letter or an email apologizing to us from the Holiday Inn . As a cancer patient who is now recovering, I could have done without the stress from those parking fine notifications... In addition, on arrival we were told the restaurant was closed and we would have to make our own eating arrangements for the evening meals - not ideal with 2 young children at short notice! I WILL NEVER BE STAYING AT A HOLIDAY INN HOTEL EVER AGAIN! Mark from Hertfordshire.

Sorry, were full....of illegal immigrants!Looking to book our next holiday to Liverpool, but sorry folks, so we can be full, we are housing illegal immigrants courtesy of the taxpayer. I would not feel safe staying here, or near here, or even living near here. We do not not know who these people are, where they have come from or what their intent pare. Seeing young men getting about is quite terrifying. Well do f Holiday Inn for taking money over safety!

Ok StayNot as modern as many of the Holiday Inn Express's. Arrived late thanks to an accident on main road nearby and in the dark; the hotel was difficult to spot and signage was scant (although I am increasingly blind these days). Rooms were comfy, spacious and ample parking was available.
