  A nice stay, but the location may not be the best for tourism

  The staff were great, the hotel was clean (except for the seemingly ever-present failure to address mold starting in the shower tile [so easy to fix, don't know why they don't get on this]). My room was on the sixth floor and faced an outdoor TV screen that was bright and had sound-- BUT, the double paned windows proved there was no real noise and the screen turned off at a decent hour. My taxi driver did not know where it was, but fortunately, my VPN and map worked at just the right moment, so we got there. There were no restaurants close to this hotel (at least not by the map the staff gave me and by my walking around). The hotel supposedly has meals available until about 9 p.m. but when I went by the restaurant, there was no one there. I resorted to a bowl of noodles on the street. Again, a nice hotel. Staff was good. Breakfast was good. It was easy enough for me to hail a passing taxi in the morning when I went to the Giant Buddha. If I return to Leshan, I will probably stay closer to the river/restaurants, etc.

  A Bit Disappointing

  The rooms are very clean. The shower has great pressure and plenty of hot water. The staff are friendly. The breakfast is average with limited choices. I would have given it 4 stars if not for the hotel's practice of turning off the air conditioning at night between 22:00pm and 23:59pm. When the hotel is busy, the air conditioning is re-started about 8:00am, but when not busy they restart it after 10:00am. We would wake up during the night and it was 27 degrees in the room (81 degrees F). When paying for an air-conditioned room, you expect to sleep with the AC operating. The hotel is located away from the river, but there are still plenty of restaurants nearby. To find them, take a left out of the hotel and walk until you reach the round about. Turn left and there are a lot of local restaurants to choose from. We took a taxi from the high-speed train station, but realized that Bus 3 (which you can catch in front of the bus station next to the train station) stops very close to the Holiday Inn Express. This is the same bus we caught to see the Leshan Buddha for 1CNY per person each way.

  Very helpful staff

  The morning front desk staff is very helpful unfortunately I cann't say the same about the evening crew, we almost miss visiting the Giant Buddha park as the evening staff just told us it is closed instead of telling us of the beautiful park around the buddha ! Breakfast is good if you are Chinese, especially good is the soya bean drink offered, they have a reasonable spread which would help a Westerner fill up as well.

  Good hotel for business travellers

  The pros- 1. Room was spacious and bed were comfortable 2. Toilet were clean with good water pressure from the shower and hot water available 3. Wifi available in the room and lobby area 4. Washing area for last minute diy washing 5. Convenient store within walking distance The cons- 1. Front desk and housekeeping doesnt understand english. Need to use translator to communicate 2. No chiller in the room so dont think of bringing back leftovers 3. No iron- ironing in the washing room 4. Centralise aircond and heater so could get too warm sometimes Tips: get the room not facing the main road as it could get noisy during peak hours

  Price is Right

  My friends & I stayed a night at this hotel when we visited LeShan Big Buddha & Mt Emei. The staffs were courteous & professional. Hotel is very clean, comfortable bed & quiet room. A new mall is located within walking distance, the mall has lots of eateries. Will definitely come back next time
