Clean and comfortableThis was our 3rd stay at this property. It is well maintained and clean. The room smelled and appeared very clean. We felt like extra cleaning and precautions were taken due to COVID. The bed is also very comfortable! We will be staying there again in a few days.

NO Masks on 6 EmployeesI chose this Holiday Inn Express (HIE) because Trip Advisors COVID-19 precautions stated that masks are required for EMPLOYEES and GUESTS. This was especially important to me as I had recently had hip replacement surgery in Chicago and needed to stay one night at the HIE on our drive home to SC. I had been quarantining for nearly four weeks and medical advice was to avoid ANY infections. Either TripAdvisor got it wrong or the HIE provided misleading information, as NONE of the six employees we saw were wearing masks despite the sign on the front door saying masks were required. Further the IHG corporate web site states: Starting Monday, July 27, face coverings are required in all public spaces at our hotels in the Americas. When we asked the housekeeper in the hall on our floor why she wasnt wearing a mask, she said masks were too hot when cleaning rooms. This was shocking as its most critical that housekeepers wear masks to avoid releasing droplets in the air and on hard surfaces, where guests could be using the same space within hours. When checking out, we asked the General Manager at the front desk why she wasnt wearing a mask, she said masks are required for guests but were optional for employees.

excellent serviceAfter driving for 15 hours I needed a place to rest. This hotel was the perfect spot. Immaculately cleaned during the COVID crisis. Excellent service by KENDRA. To go breakfast was excellent with a good variety.

Employees do not wear masksNot one of the six employees we encountered were wearing a mask, including the person who checked us in. Only one of them appeared to have a mask on their person. We chose this hotel specifically in reliance on IHG's representation of enhanced safety protocol. That is clearly not being honored here. When I reached out to share feedback with this hotel, I basically got a form email from their front office manager that did not mention or address my concerns. I would never stay here again.
