  Nice hotel, you can tell its older but nice

  The hotel has all Oceanfront rooms, the suites have a little sitting areas and a counter top area that has a sink, microwave, mini refrigerator and Keurig. The bathroom and bedroom are large. The balcony is big enough for 2 or 3 chairs and a small table. Nice hotel but you can see there are a few things that are broken or dirty because of the age of the hotel. We would stay here again.

  Can't get any closer to the beach than this.

  We stopped here and used some of our reward points to stay. The staff was friendly, and the lobby areas are very clean, and all rooms face the ocean. But, the rooms are the older style and the furniture is looking a little worn. As with the older properties, they have few wall outlets and no USB ports. The sliding glass door to the balcony was very hard to open and the handle was rusting away and loose. There was a laundry basket which contained fresh towels, so we know they weren't left over from a previous guest. The morning "Grab & Go" selection wasn't quite as good as other HIE's we've stayed at recently, but it was adequate to hold us over until we got to a real restaurant. The room does have a fridge with a freezer, microwave, and coffee machine. The best part is that it's right on the beach and the location is in the middle of the strip. There was limited parking next to the hotel, but during the busy season, they have two other parking lots nearby. Parking is free for one car per room and it looks like towing is enforced. Like many hotels along this stretch of beach, it is directly in the flight path of Oceana Naval Air Station, and the F-18's make a lot of noise coming and going especially if you're on the beach or have your slider open. On a good note, the elevators appear to have a search and wait mode because we always had one appear in less than a minute on the 8th floor or lobby. There is also an indoor pool.

  Hit or miss on the room but great view and clean

  We initially had a problem at checkin because the front desk person didn't understand English well. The manager worked it out. The rooms were clean, the view is awesome, and they come up clean for no bedbugs. All pluses! The hallways are a little dated and there's a funky smell in the hallways but the roooms were good and you have your own balcony. Due to Covid, the breakfast is "grab and go" style. You can still eat in the dining area, but all the food is indivually wrapped. Kudos to Holiday Inn for making breakfast work!

  Overall, nice stay.

  The front desk & housekeeping staff were wonderful....very helpful and friendly. I had a great ocean front view room (#1015) which is located at the very end of the hall, and it was very quite...although you will hear and can see from your room balcony, the nearby Navy jets fly over at times during the day time hours. I have stayed at many different Holiday Inn Express hotels over the years, but this one did disappointed me a bit....the room décor appeared to be slightly dated, and the bathroom towel wall rack was poorly installed on the wall, and some of its top cross-rail sections would come apart.

  Always a great place to stay on the oceanfront

  This hotel is always a great place to stay. I have been staying here for at least the last 15 years on my annual trips down in December. Me and my late wife always came down to do Christmas shopping and visit all the drive through Christmas lights. I'm always welcomed with a great smile and the service is always great. I liked the way the hotel has responded to Covid-19. I stayed at 20 different hotels the last 4 months. This hotel has the best ways in house keeping. They have a laundry basket with a plastic bag to put your used towels in. Before you go to bed you place the basket outside your door and in the morning new towels are there. This is the best practice with limited housekeeping. I never had issues here and would always recommend this hotel for future stays. Will be there again next December. Just can't wait to return.
