  Great Visit!

  We wanted to go somewhere warm before winter set on at home but didn't want to be around all the crowds in Las Vegas. I'd read about Misquite, it's about 90 minutes up the freeway from Las Vegas. We picked the Holiday Inn based on the pool, and we know from experience that the rooms are always nice, and we figured it would be less crowded than one of the local casinos. There is also a microwave and a decent sized fridge in the rooms. We checked in and Krista took good care of us by upgrading us to a suite on the second floor. Because of Covid the breakfast has changed they now have a bag that they put milk, juice, or water in along with an apple, orange or banana. They also had several kinds of cereal and granola bars as well as A Jimmy Dean sausage, egg and cheese biscuit. The hotel is located top of a large hill overlooking town and is right next-door to a Walmart and there is also a Dollar Tree close by. We spent our day at the pool, ate lunch on the balcony, and went out for dinner each night. After dinner we would spend some time out by firepit. We are already planning our next vist!

  Pet friendly and Covid-19 safe.

  We cancelled our trip to Mexico due to Covid-19 getting worse and decided to take a driving trip with the dogs. We stopped in Mesquite and stayed the night. Mesquite is one of those places I just drove through maybe 100 times over the years. This was a fantastic stay, great small city with beautiful sunsets. The Holiday Inn was really clean, well maintained and EVERY employee was properly wearing a mask. Even at 1:30 am and 4:30 am walked through the front lobby to take the dags out for a potty break. We will stay at this location again.

  NICE....BUT SHOWING WEAR

  We stayed one night in early December 2020. The lobby was nice and everything appeared clean. The carpet in the hallways on the 4th floor appeared dirty and showing significant aging. The room, for the most part was fine, but again, starting to show some wear and tear. I did find a long hair on my pillow, which I can only imagine it was the cleaning person's. They did upgrade us to a suite for free, which was nice. Overall, I would say that it was acceptable, but not nearly as nice as some of the other hotels we stayed at in this price range.

  Clean and Comfortable

  Spent three nights for a golf trip. Hotel was clean and staff seemed very attentive to COVID-19 precautions. The King-bed, suite was roomy and comfortable. The bed was excellent!! Heater / Air Conditioner worked perfectly, keeping the room atmosphere just right; and the unit was not noisy! Breakfast was great and staff very friendly.

  Showing signs of wear and tear.. plus n unwelcome visitor

  Traveling on the I15, Mesquite is an easy option rather than deal with Vegas, however the standard of this particular Holiday Inn is beginning to slip. The location is ideal - up the valley a little, opposite a golf course with good views. The stairs, corridors, etc, are really becoming tired & a little dirty. I'm sad to say a cockroach made an appearance in the bathroom of our top floor room. We were at the end of our stay, so not a huge issue - we all know they exist, nevertheless my preference would be not to see one. Everything else was up to the usual HI standard, there were a fair range of options available at breakfast including a hot Jimmy Dean (if you're into those?) . We did not complain about our little visitor, so no complaints about the staff, just sad to see this hotel becoming a little tired...
