  Quite modern and centrally located

  This is one of those hotels whee the lobby is upstairs, but that means you get a good view across the old town from the lobby. It is a well run, clean facility that clearly does a roraing trade. Staff are helpful if a little shy with their limited English. But thenmy Mandarin was also limited. There is only Breakfast, so be prepared to walk to the old town for dinner.

  EFFICIENT - EFFICACE

  This hotel is ideally located in the city center. Efficient like any Holiday Inn express of the chain. No specific charm, no specific architecture but super clean, rooms are large, desk tv, AC, just great for average price. L'hotel est parfaitement situé en centre ville. C'est efficace ! Pas de charme spécifique ni d'architecture traditionnelle, mais les chambres sont grandes, avec bureau et TV et Climatisation. Parfait à prix doux !

  Central location ideal for wandering around town

  Let's start with the positives: A Very comfortable bed (Rare in that region of China) The hotel has coffee in the rooms that does not have milk &/or sugar already mixed in - virtually unique during my two week trip in the area! A fantastic central location, so you can wander around the town easily and enjoy the local restaurants at night without worrying about how to get back to your hotel by cab. The safe was large. The room was clean and well maintained. Now the negatives: The room smelt smoky. There was a glass wall to the shower so if one person went toilet they would wake the other up because of light flooding into the room There was a lot of noise from the lift and people chain smoking in the area by the lift Overall the hotel may have achieved four out of five apart from the biggest let down - the breakfast! The breakfast room was too small to cope with the volumes. They were not ready at the time that they were supposed to open. Many of the serving areas were not filled up until 20 minutes or so after service was meant to start. This is not ideal if you were meant to be departing half an hour after the start of the food service! This also meant that you ended up with queues for everything.

  They had all the things most folks look for in a hotel!

  Clean, friendly, conveniently located in the heart of the tourist district, large rooms that are clean and very quiet, large showers, air conditioning, all you can eat buffet breakfast, and most of all, room side views of the river system and park.

  Value for $, great location!

  Good& clean rooms for low prices. However the holiday inn (not express) has a better location than the express Hotel! If i knew earlier, i will stay at the Holiday Inn instead. Functional breakfast. Enough to satisfy morning hunger. Overall a good stay. Oh yes, for bubble tea lovers, the famous "alley" from Taiwan is right next to the hotel!
