  Higher price but well worth it

  Price was a little higher than what we usually spend but when there is no other openings you take what you can get. That being said, it was worth each and every penny we spent. Rooms were awesome, people were nice, everything worked in the rooms, elevator was a great touch since we were on 4th floor. Breakfast was very good. Normally do not got with Holiday Inn due to price but will rethink that idea in the future. They say you get what you pay for and they are right, again, worth every penny!

  Overcharged

  I have stayed at this hotel over 20 times since it was built. In the last 6 months the customer service has went downhill. They overcharge and even charged me for a room 2 days after I had left. The money was refunded after weeks of phone calls and then they were ugly about doing it. Avoid this hotel to avoid mysterious charges appearing on your card

  Room gets a 5 but....

  Stayed there last night and room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was another thing. Usual Express menu but very poorly executed. Breakfast hostess was too busy ta Liking to front desk employees or taking her smoking break to do her job. Juice machine was out of 2 of 3 juices and tray was overflowing from guests emptying watered down drinks. Sausages were not labeled pork or turkey which is important to many guests. Pancake syrup was in bulk-form with no designation of sugar-free. Butter was in refrigerator, as hard as a rock. The makings are there for a decent breakfast but somebody needs to manage it and this woman was definitely not capable of doing even an adequate job.

  Lack of proper management

  The building itself is ok and seems to be pretty new, but the staff is very chaotic and they seem to lack management that ensures things are done right. Already the checkin was more than strange. I was asked to put the credit card into the machine. But while it still said "processing. Do not remove card" the guy told me I must remove the card now. I told him it was still processing but he just repeated I must remove the card now. Obviously this resulted in "transaction canceled" which did not seem to bother him... So what was that whole exercise for? In the room there was no hair dryer, which unfortunately we only realized the next morning. While searching for one we found a pair of old dirty jeans in one of the drawers. By the time they managed to deliver a new hair dryer my hair were dry anyway already. On checkout when I asked for the copy of the bill it took several minutes until I was finally told it does not work but I could leave my email address. Oh and why does house keeping knock in the morning of a 1 night stay? By the way the breakfast hours given with the keys do not match the ones in the hotel information brochure.

  Great hotel if you don't mind staying in the middle of nowhere

  Found this hotel when searching for a place to stop for the night along I-10. Search results showed $79 per night pricing thru various web sites but promised an even better price if we call Holiday Inn Express direct. The Holiday Inn operator informed us that they would be giving us a slightly better price but that the total with taxes would end up as $117.00. Believing this to be the case, we booked the room (non refundable). Getting off I-10 at the Donaldsonville exit revealed a 8.4 mile ride to the hotel over one of the scariest one lane closed bridges we have ever been on! The hotel appeared fairly new, but we quickly discovered not a single sit down restaurant in the entire town! Fast food only, and it was not very good. To add insult to injury, at checkout we learned the total was $141.00, not the $117 verbally promised by the hotel booking agent. We will never stay here again!!
