A plesant stay in the 'new normal'Stayed here for 2 nights recently, before I arrived I checked the HIE Crewe website for details of Breakfast as I knew the buffet style would not be available. Website very vague and concentrated more on being 'on brand' than any useful local info. That said I sent an email and got a quick reply saying it would be a cold breakfast in a bag which I could take to my room. Checked in around 1900, keycard and meal instructions handed to me in a envelope. In addition to the cold breakfast were options for a Bacon bap, Sausage Bap and a veggie something too. I ordered a bacon bap, it was really quite tasty! Cold Breakfast consisted of fruit (apple or banana), yoghurt, croissant and a cereal bar, plus small carton of juice and also milk. All good and I didn't go hungry! Could also order simple evening meals too but I went elsewhere in the evening to eat. Pleased to say the shower and hot water worked fine this time, very little noise at night and had a good sleep. I had a room overlooking the bowling green. This was my first trip away since lockdown so really enjoyed my 2 nights away!

Christmas plansBooked for 5 days over Christmas, unfortunately government changed Christmas plans at the last minute & moved Crewe into tier 3 meaning hotel has to close. Unbelievable the manager refused to cancel my booking without a fee! The hotel was closing & not my choice. Manager was rude on the phone & very unhelpful. I wouldn't recommend this hotel with such uncertain times & tier changes and a manager who isn't flexible

Honest reviewOk so I booked this last minute we found on booking.com a deal for half board for both of us £69 so I called them as just checking food would be served due to covid restrictions they replied yes and she also said on the phone I could book the same deal direct with her so I did ....... got to the hotel which is next door to a McDonalds and not the cleanest looking the parking was round the back we parked our car and went in .... at reception we found that the deal had not been booked at all but she honoured it anyway and said it was a reduced menu which we knew I paid and she handed us a white envelope with our key card and info for our stay we went to drop the bag off in the room and when we got to the door the key card didnt work so hubby went back downstairs the receptionist said sorry and re did it for us we entered the room which was bloody freezing as the window had been left open they are adequate rooms not the best I have ever stayed in but to be fair I didnt pay the ritz price tag so it served a purpose .... the shower was good they also do offer a range of toiletries just ask reception we ventured down for our meal and we found that it was microwave food but after a few drinks I was past caring really it served a purpose we also handed in the breakfast order form too once we had some more drinks we went to bed .... this is not the most quiet hotel doors banging people shouting and the bed is not comfy at all once morning came we went for breakfast or should I say lack of !!!! No cereal at all just croissants muffins justice milk butter (that is rock hard ) and tea and coffee hubby had a sausage butty but again he said not the best we checked out and proceeded to the car DO NOT PARK UNDER THE TREES OUR CAR LOOKED LIKE A RHINO HAD POOED ON IT ! Hubby was not at all happy neither was I all in all not mega bad but wont be going again

Very impressed !My boyfriend and I came to stay at the holiday inn express for 2 nights to facilitate our trip to Alton towers- the hotel was only about a 40 minute drive away and was miles cheaper than many other options. We were greeted by a lovely young girl, didnt catch her name but she had brown hair. She was very friendly, helped us with our parking, and made us feel very welcome. The room itself was spotlessly clean, really big, and had a lovely ensuite with a large and powerful shower. Breakfast was included with our room, where each morning we got a sausage bap, blueberry muffin, cereal bar, piece or fruit, piece of cheese, a croissant and a latte. The breakfast was actually surprisingly delicious and filling, we werent expecting much due to how cheap it was but it really impressed us. Piping hot and tasty. You also get given it in a little brown paper bag to enjoy in your room or on the go which was really handy! The location is also good, with a 24 hour McDonalds in the same car park, the train station a short walk away, and a greggs, dominos, Starbucks, and subway also a 2 min drive! The car park was spacious and free for holiday inn members, or only £4 a night if not.
