  Great Place

  Came to town for a hockey game. Thought it was too far and would cost us a fortune for a taxi but only a bit more than $20.00 The staff was wonderful and didnt come knocking on doors before 10:00AM. and the front desk was great with directions... The bath tub was truly great..it was a deep soaker tub and so comfy along with the beds... Ricks restaurant was delicious with a great staff. Breakfast and supper equally great. Wonderful place

  This is a nice hotel with a good location for Southside Edmonton shopping and activities. It's a bit far from the airport for overnight but not bad if you're town for a couple of days. Best value in town. Reasonable rates, comfortable rooms and friendly service. The pool and hot tub are clean. The fitness center a bit small. Breakfast at Ricky's which is connected is only $10 more if you include it at check-in. Train tracks are behind the hotel but I never heard the train. The Irish pub in the hotel is also quite nice. Best value I've found in Edmonton over a number of visits.

  Great location

  Stayed here again after a few years. Coming back to the Edmonton area Was greeted as a spire elite member Was upgraded. Room service food is very good. Staff is very friendly Gym is decent . Only issue is the train that goes by on occasion.

  Just ok.

  This hotel was booked for us by our sports team, as we were in town for a competition. Check in was horrendous. They had this booking for months in advance, didn't book the correct rooms based on numbers, and we all ended up in different rooms than what we originally booked. Check in was at 4pm, and there were people who still didn't have rooms after 6pm. Housekeeping staff appeared to be one person, not in uniform, a bit confusing when you see a single person dressed in street clothes going into your room. Restaurants on site are Ricky's and Fionn McCools, both have decent food, but service is slow. Rooms were reasonably clean, but run down, peeling paint, missing baseboards, etc. This hotel is on a train track and the entire building shakes when trains go by. Try and stay on the "street side" of the hotel to avoid the vibrating beds. They vacuum the hallways at 8:30am, which was also a fun treat on our last day when we were trying to catch up on some much needed rest. You get what you pay for, but if you're someone who can sleep through an earthquake, you might enjoy a great deal here.

  Absolutely scary experience! Worst hotel stay in many years!!

  Booked via a 3rd party, rhymes with botnire. Rate = great. Did I initially think I had gotten a great deal? Yes. Until I got to this hotel... On arrival at 1515 in the afternoon I found parking easily. The lot is quite big and there is also parking behind the hotel. There is underground parking but this was NOT offered to me or even mentioned. When I entered the hotel I found it odd that the interior, or second set of auto doors, were locked (it's mid afternoon). A security person then looked at me oddly and walked towards the door in order to let me in. As I entered I noticed 3 security persons, which was super odd. I went to the front desk, the check in girl was friendly and efficient but didn't describe the hotel amenities or parking. I had to sign their standard form for no smoking in the room. The elevators worked fine during my stay. I had a room on the 3rd floor. The room itself was dated and smelled slightly of urine, but I sprayed some axe and carried on as I was meeting friends downtown. Before I left I used the toilet. The toilet would...not flush! I lifted the back of the toilet and reconnected the handle chain and vola! I'll send you the repair bill. Also, the water flow during flush was horrible. had to flush twice. As I left the hotel I saw now 5 security guards in the foyer. I'm thinking to myself,...umm why? But off I went to meet my friend. When I returned I had to swipe my card to get the main door to open, this was at 1845, not even late at night. Again, more security met me in the foyer. There were also security personnel stationed further down the hallway, why, I have no idea to be certain. But as I returned to my room I noticed a large group of people out behind the hotel. Some rather downtrodden looking individuals. Perhaps the manager of this hotel who is reading my review would care to share with their guests the TRUE reason for the large security detail at this hotel? I fully expect you to skirt this question. Know that I am reporting your hotel to botnire in hopes they will drop you from their offering. The security personnel were not friendly, and it made me feel extremely uncomfortable having them watch over my every move. A hotel should be welcoming and friendly. Your hotel is not at all welcoming. Now for the pool. WOW. DISGUSTING. The bottom of the pool is yellow with dirt, it's absolutely revolting. I'm reporting you to the health department because of this. Also, the cleaning staff knocked on my door at 0945 in the morning, way too early! ALSO, there are signs everywhere reminding/urging you to remove valuables from your vehicle. Why? Because this area is sketchy and ghetto. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. You WILL regret it.
