  Filthy and poor quality

  Easily the worst IHG experience ever! From absolutely no service to absolute filth in the rooms. Food is poor and drinks are expensive. I complained every single day about the cleanliness of my room and still on checkout it was dirty. Only one member of staff impressed me, the food was awful. My room had pubes in the bed, stained pillow cases, cobwebs, hair everywhere, furnishings falling apart and lights not working. My advice stay elsewhere, over a week from requesting management attention and still waiting for a resolution.

  Poor standards and services

  Booked for an important member of staff. My staff member left 1 hour after checking in staying the room was not clean and not happy to stay. I have contacted the hotel 6 times leaving messages and no manager has contacted me and i have not received my receipt for the stay. I am disappointed that a recommendation i gave my staff to use was appalling.

  Better than expected

  The hotel was better than I expected especially for the price that we paid. We got a triple room which had a double bed and a sofa bed. The room was clean and tidy although at the end of our stay we noticed that one of the sheets were partly stained brown (pretty grim). The bed was quite comfy however. Unfortunately I couldn't go to the gym or pool as the hotel had some annoying covid measures which mean you had to book a 1 hour slot and these got booked up quite quickly. We also got a noise complaint which was ridiculous as we were only talking, however the walls are pretty thin as I could hear babies crying in the middle of the night. Finally, the hotel offers free parking which is good as you need a car/taxi to get into the town centre.

  Cheap and cheerful

  * Room The room is ok at a best but nothing special. Just the basic essentials for a couple of night's stay. * Breakfast The inclusive breakfast was awful uneatable. I was told due to covid they aren't that busy so, they cover the food and leave it under the hot light. So, when we adventured to the restaurant for morning breakfast around 7ish the food was dried out and like rubber. * Location Location was perfect for us, close to the A12 and close enough to Colchester Town for shopping and evening dinner. Zoo -3 miles, Town Centre - 4.5miles * Staff Staff where friendly on arrival and helpful for any information or assistance needed.

  lovely safe quite stay.

  Just stayed there this weekend.The hotel is very covid safe and clean. i would not hesitate in staying here even at this difficult time.We have stayed before as we like to go into Colchester shopping.Normally i would go in the pool but due to an ear infection i did not this time.Well done to all the staff. Thank you.
