    Very poor. Dont bother paying extra for executive room...

    Ive stayed at this hotel once in the past, we needed a hotel at short notice and this hotel was available. I wish we had researched a little longer. Check in was painful even though we had pre booked a few hours earlier. Our correct details couldnt be found. I booked an executive room. I would love someone to have pointed out what made it executive. To me it was just a standard room with a sign on the door saying executive. The room was tired and grim. Mattress worn out and uncomfortable. In general the hotel just looks tired and unwelcoming. We ate in the bar, once again the food was poor and grim. It wasnt very tasty or inspiring. Lots of confusion with the order all coming at once even though we ordered starters. I can only assume the food then sat somewhere as it was lukewarm when it arrived. Breakfast was slightly redeeming although once again not much thought had gone into the cold offerings. I will never stay here again and certainly would not recommend.

    Changed Room 3 Times As Heating Didnt Work.

    Booking in no problem,receptionist friendly and helpful. Paid a bit more for executive room (not worth it in our opinion). First room: Upstairs nice clean room facing restaurant/pub. With fridge and 2 bottles of water. Sofa. Wardrobe consisted of 1 robe and 1 pair of slippers,even though this was a double room?? Heater didnt work except air conditioner it was freezing. Receptionist knew the heating didnt work,so why put us in there? Second room: Upstairs again,given below standard room,very dull only had wall lights,floor light didnt work,nor did the heater (again) even the electric one didnt work. One chair,small table. No fridge,room facing car park. Third room:(fingers crossed) downstairs a mile walk (well it felt like it) facing garden. Nice room,sofa,no fridge (again). Both heaters worked. Offered a complimentary meal for the hassle,opted for breakfast as by the time we had moved rooms we were late going out. Breakfast no-one about to get you seated,breakfast options were lacking no yogurts,fruit or strawberry jam (obviously not very popular here) but had every other jam. English breakfast was nice and plate was full. Could stay in the room till 12pm so no rush to get out after eating. Our first time with Holiday Inn wasnt great,normally go to a Premier Inn or Travel Lodge. Unfortunately probably wont be returning in a hurry.

    Comfortable, convenient and friendly hotel

    We enjoyed our two night stay at the Holiday Inn Ashford. We had an executive room on the first (top) floor which was quiet as requested. It was not a large room but was comfortable for two nights with a fridge, safe, hairdryer, kettle and a very slim wardrobe with two bathrobes and slippers. The bathroom was a reasonable size with fluffy towels, soap, shampoo/shower gel and body lotion. The walk in shower was easy to operate. Delphine welcomed us and checked us in with efficiency and friendliness. In fact all of the staff we saw were exceptionally friendly and helpful. We had the buffet breakfast at £10 per person which complied with covid restrictions and comprised the usual cereal, fruit, yoghurt, bread, muffins, croissants and a hot buffel which was served by staff with tea and coffee from a machine and a toaster. The hotel is convenient for visits to Canterbury, the Kent coasts and the outlet shopping plus Sainsburys, M&S Food and John Lewis Home are nearby. We would certainly return to this hotel.

    Covid insecure hotel

    Ive stopped here on a few occasions and would say it is a comfortable clean hotel. However, as a key worker Ive spent 40+ nights in hotels since the first lockdown eased, and this is the first one Ive felt vulnerable in!!!! I was on a 2 night stay, and was shocked that a staff member had cleaned my room whilst out at work! EVERY other hotel Ive been in there has been no one else in the room during my stay. When I asked why the response was that the staff member wore gloves. Well what an easy way to cross contaminate from one room to another. The manager I spoke to didnt appear to understand the risk. Ive had no follow up from the hotel to my complaint and IHG customer care have taken over a week to confirm that the hotel was not abiding by their protocol. I would consider using the hotel again but not if the pandemic is still ongoing.

    Key Worker Repeat Stay- During Covid 19 Pandemic-Value for money

    I spent 2 weeks at this hotel and have to say I have found the Covid controls to being excellent. I found the hotel receptionists (Delphine & Megan) extremely helpful, professional and cheerful, (when , lets face it, it is a difficult time and a little cheer goes a long way) I found my room on the ground floor to be spacious and comfortable with ample space for my laptop and numerous plug locations. A top quality walk in shower. The room was heated but an extra pug in heater is available. Food ordered by scanning an app to the menu and ordering without touching a menu, this is then placed on the floor and the door knocked, the waiter then stands a long way away and waits for you to collect your food. The receptionists ensured this room was reserved for my following week too. I will definitely be back when next in the area. Thanks guys - great value
