    Not recommended.

Came here recently for a three-week language course. Unfortunately, my experience with the hotel was mostly negative. Bed broke halfway through second week, and was never repaired. The carpet in some of the rooms also had a nasty, persistent smell of vinegar. Not sure of the reason why. Wi-Fi is not free (10), and unfortunately not always fully functional. Only one TV room, which unfortunately does not serve its purpose very well since half of the channels do not work, and video quality is poor. Food quality is average at best. On the positive side, it is just a five-minute drive from the centre of Pforzheim, and there is a bus stop located conveniently just behind the hotel. Overall, I would not recommend staying here for more than a night or two.

    Grand Pseudo-Christian Rip-Off

This hotel has clearly seen better days - at first it looks like an ageing eco-lodge with a lot of wood and tiles and big windows, but upon looking closer, you still see a lot of environmentally unfriendly practices such as paper towels, inefficient heating etc. I went for a course and rate the conference venue as well as accommodations. It is set in nice woodlands in the middle of nowhere - rubbish when you travel by public transport, as the bus only goes once an hour, and you have to walk ten minutes to an unsheltered bus stop. No shops or entertainment nearby, you have to travel to Pforzheim (12km) for that, there is an hourly bus which drops to every two hours on weekends. On the other side, there is very little parking if you come by car (more convenient, and I don't say that light-heartedly as I prefer to travel by public transporte especially when travelling by myself) The whole place has a strange missionary pseudo-Christian vibe about it. Even as a practising Christian, I found this way too much - this might be okay for a religious convention but not for a course totally unrelated to religion. As some poster already mentioned, it did indeed border on creepy. I was pleasantly surprised by my room which was spartan (had essentials such as comfy bed, quality linen, hairdryer, free WiFi, TV, desk) but comfortable, and well heated, though others on the course reported their heating didn't work (and wasn't properly fixed, either). Wifi worked if a little slow. Conference venue: Conference rooms are small but adequate AV equipment appears a bit dated. We had to pay a mandatory 37 EUROS for "lunch, break meals and drinks in conference room" - way too much! Lunch was admittedly okay, one vegetarian choice, lots of salad, but the morning snack consisted of some rather unimaginative sandwiches (mostly ham, so rubbish when you are vegetarian), afternoon they had one type of donuts and a bit of fruit. Anything but plain coffee had to be paid extra and was from a vending machine. The other "drinks" consisted of still and sparkling water only. For 37 EUROs I would expect substantially more, and it is unfair that there is no way to opt out if this when attending a course there. Moreover, I had to pay extra for breakfast (6.50 EURO which is okay by German standards) and evening meal (also quite okay). But 37 EURO as a MANDATORY fee for essentially some poor quality coffee, one type of snack and a bit of (not very good) fruit and a self-serve canteen lunch (okay but not restaurant cooking quality) with only two choices of main and the same salad every day is way too much. This is when in Germany a good set lunch at a proper restaurant (with a drink) will set you back about 12 EURO! I would not come here again, and next time I attend a course I will not choose this venue ever again (my course provider offers courses in different location in Germany so I will simply book another venue where conference catering fees are more moderate.

    Excellent conference centre

I was very worried about coming here for a conference, as I'd read some awful reviews. I was hugely relieved and very pleasantly surprised to find a very welcoming conference centre with very friendly and helpful staff. There are no frills here: it is a fairly basic centre, in that there are no TVs or luxury items in bedrooms, but everything is very clean and very comfortable. The food was great - really fresh, well-prepared meals, that catered for meat-eaters and vegetarians alike. The centre is quite isolated, but this is not a drawback for a conference or retreat and the countryside around affords lovely walks. It was a great change from the hustle and bustle of my usual city life!

    Not quite a business hotel

All hotels in the area were full because of a exhibition in the neighborhoods, so I went here. This is not really a place we're I would stay for a convenient stay for business purposes, but is a good place to go with a group of people to enjoy the environment. I think you can stay here with large groups easily. The stay was okay, nothing more nothing less.
