  Set a new Low!

  Not sure where to start on this one...maybe the airport shuttle that never showed after (2 requests) the dirty room, cold shower, colder staff ... room was hot because we had the choice of sleeping with the light on, (no working switch) or turning the whole rooms power off = (no aircon) but it wasn't as if you are going to get sleep on that bed anyway... a pile of rocks would be better! Can't comment on breakfast as we couldn't get out of there quick enough...

  A cold hotel

  It is unfair that I visited during a really cold spell but the staff were wrapped in anoraks yet kept front and back doors open. The room offered air conditioning but when turned to 30 degrees it just blew cold air. The television was too low on the wall to watch from bed and way too complicated. Even turning it on requires a degree from MIT.

  Tolerable

  We stayed in this hotel as it was close to our sons apartment. We were concerned about some of the reviews but took a chance.Initially we had a room with no outside window which we found oppressive however we were moved on request to a better room. The rooms are clean and have what is generally needed if a bit tired. The area is quite central and as taxis are cheap it was not difficult to get around. We have given up on breakfast in Vietnam unless staying in a western chain or in Hanoi or Saigon the choice is for western tastes a little bizarre I.e noddle's, beef stew etc. I did ask for non condensed milk for my coffee but was told quite sternly no! The reception staff were however more accomadating as was the security man .

  We loved it!

  Its great value for money, its close to anywhere you need to go in hai phong. Theres always food about. Staff was friendly and helpful. What more can you ask for. Remember it isnt a 5 star so dont be petty and expect the world from them. Its a humble little hotel that offers more than you can bargain for. Breakfast is decent too but maybe Im being biased because Im Vietnamese. So thank you (cam on) Hoang hai for your hospitality and helping accommodate me and my family for that I am grateful and say hello to anh son for me :)

  Great Location and Friendly Staff

  My husband and I loved our stay at this hotel. Everything we were looking for was walking distance. The Hotel Director checked on us every time we saw him to assure we were happy and to see if there was anything else him and his staff could do to improve our stay. There was security present 24/7 and there were cameras on each floor that made us feel very safe. The staff at the front desk were always helpful and guided us to the best food, entertainment and shopping. The cleaning staff were very friendly and meticulous when it came to laundry and cleaning our room. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Hai Phong and we will definitely be coming back.
