Scope for improvementOnly stayed two nights. Like a number of hotels in this part of Germany it is a victim of its past. Rooms are not as small as many but there is no air con - useful at this time of year - so you have to chose between being warm and stuffy or being disturbed by external noise (Saturday night well after midnight). In a good location between the railways and the town centre. Processes for wi-fi and (if you need it, parking) are not customer centred ! The standard restaurant is very large and provides mass catering buffet - over cooked vegetables and various meats floating in sauces - not very appetising to look at. Tap water seems to be unheard of but you can pay nearly 3 euros for a tiny bottle of still water. Staff attitude is variable but mostly good. They need to do more to make customers feel welcome. Items purchased on account take a long time to appear on the bill - you think you've paid ready to check out when something else then appears.

Very disappointing stayWe stayed at this hotel with a organised group of 40 people for 5 nights. We were all allocated the old bedrooms that desperately required refurbishment. The beds were old style twins - very low with thin mattress and useless pillows. The bathroom also needed updating and the towels were threadbare with holes. Just 2 teabags with no sugar or milk provided and if we wanted more then they charged 5 euros per day. the also charged for the bottle of water in the room each day. We asked for towel gowns and paid 5 euros each extra. On their website they show lovely modern updated rooms with good walking showers but they weren't allocated to our group. If we wanted a nice room it was 10 euros per night which would have been ok if we were offered them. Because we were a group all meals, breakfast and dinner were buffet style and l found it stressful as it felt like a Bun Fight each day!! The room maid changed the towels each day but never washed the dirty cups or glasses and l wasn't too sure about the bathroom being cleaned either on some days! When l asked at Reception for anything the staff were abrupt and not very helpful. Smoking was allowed in the only Bar with seating in the hotel that was open so if you wanted to have a drink you had to sit in the Foyer near Reception. If you want to stay at this hotel ensure you ask for a refurbed room and eat in the little restaurant.

Not a four star hotelHotel rooms need refurbishment. Towels extremely thin and dated back to 2016 frayed and stained despite being changed that morning Charged for bottled water . Tea n coffee facilities advertised but require payment . No safe On plus side close to town centre Not cheap

Well run German hotel. We stayed 5 nights at the hotel as a part of a train trip in Germany. The hotel is 650 meters (yards) from the railway station, a bus will get you within 200 meters from the hotel. A big roomy hotel, catering for the German tourist who wants to stay in their own country and discover this part of the republic. Rooms were large, well furnished but rather dated and only German TV (except NBC). Helpful staff, decent fitness room. Food was excellent, a very wide choice, we ate dinner and breakfast and couldn't have asked for anything more. Although the staff do speak English, 99% of guests were Germans, coming for the walking, steam trains and nature. Probably would stay here again.

Pleasant stayStayed at this hotel with a group booking. The breakfast buffet was excellent. The supper 3 course buffet had a good choice and you could always make yourself a large salad with meat/ cheese or fish if you did not like the main course selection. Ice cream was also available daily as an alternative dessert choice. The negatives were charging 50 cents for a glass of tap water even if you were ordering wine or beer in the restaurant. There were no tea or coffee facilities in our room & upon asking at reception for a kettle in our room I was told to order a tea/coffee in the downstairs restaurant or bar and take it upstairs to our room.
