Very DisappointedHaving just returned from a 4 day stay in Rome, I felt I should write a review on the Historic Bernini House on my return. I had looked on tripadvisor before I went (as i always do before I book accommodation), but there were no reviews for this accomodation, so I hope this helps the next person who considers staying there. Firstly, when we got there we were looking for the hotel sign - there was none. Basically the hotel is on 3rd floor of a building - with just a buzzer on the door (with 10 or 12 others) to get in. There is a lift upstairs, but its extremely fragile! It requires a key to function, so it is necessary for the receptionist to come down to collect you each time you return. Alternatively you can use the stairs. We booked the accommodation through [--] and have to say we were very excited about Bernini House judging by the pictures. What a disappointment - it was nothing like the pictures! It was very small and dimly lit. The room we were in had no windows and was like an attic room. We had to have the lights on the whole time we were in the room. The coving on the walls you seen on the pictures is just aeroboard! The breakfast was pretty bad to be honest, no fruit or croissants, just dried toast in packets with sweet bread. We opted to go out for breakfast every day as a result. But having said all this, the room was very clean and tidy and the bed was very comfy. There was also a tele in the room, but with limited channels - no english except for BBC news (which we were greatful for!). The staff were very nice and very helpful. We only met 2 of them - a girl by day and a guy by night. They appeared to do reception & cleaning between them as we never set eyes on any other staff for 4 days and witnessed them doing both at different times. We paid 600 euro for 4 nights, which we thought was a bit expensive, but then again, we were 2 mins from the spanish steps and 5 from Trevi Fountain so the location was absolutely perfect. All in all, I don't think I would return to this hotel, it didn't leave a lasting impression, but that was no fault of the staff - they couldn't have been nicer.

Very PleasedThe apartment was not ready when we got there, but not a problem. We were given instructions on the apartment, and we left for the day. When we returned everything was in place. Hosts were great. They arranged for our transport to and from the apartment, and even for my daughter that was living there. Can't wait to visit Rome again. I would definitely recommend Bernini House.

Perfect Apartment in RomeSo glad we chose to stay in the Bernini House for our stay in Rome. Located just across from the Vatican in a lovely neighborhood with a great coffee place just a few doors down and across the street. The apartment was spotless and exactly like the pictures with a full kitchen and living area, comfortable beds and plenty of room. Alessandra was great with the details and Ms Simona was waiting for us to let us in and show us around. If you need a taxi they are just at the corner. Also has air-conditioning but we didn't need it. Perfect stay we would highly recommend this apartment.

Clean and comfortable apartmentThe place was very nice. Alessandra arranged our transfer from the airport to bring us to the apartment where Alberto was waiting for us. He showed us in and pointed out places of interest on a map. We enjoyed our 3-night stay. It was great to have AC in each of the rooms for the summer nights, even if they were a little noisy. The location was just a short walk down the road from St Peter's Square. Taxi and Bus stop and mini-mart just across the road. Other top sights about a 30-minute walk across the bridge. Lots of restaurants along the street and a bigger supermarket a little further down the road. I also must add that we were able to have a later check out on our last day (2pm) which was very much appreciated. Thank you, Alessandra and Alberto!
