Great Location, Not Good for Colder Weather MonthsI mainly wrote this review because their website is quite vague about amenities or what is supplied so hopefully my review is helpful to others. I know every cabin is different, so this only applies to our experience with this specific cabin and some general info about the place. We stayed in cabin 17 during mid-late October and temps were in the mid 50s during the day and 40s at night. General Info- There is a very small check-in window (2pm-6pm) that is not expressed until you are entering payment info online. There is an in-ground pool on site but was closed for the season. The sign at the entrance was not always illuminated at night and since they are located on a busy road, it was not easy to slow down and find it unless we used GPS to know when to turn. And speaking of the busy road, the cabins are all along the road so expect hearing cars and trucks while being inside. At check-in, they gave us a magazine, Acadia Weekly, that had info with maps, tide tables, sunrise/sunset times, cruise ship dockings, events, etc that was super helpful. WiFi is free but shoddy and we were one of the closest cabins to the office. In terms of distance, this is one of the closest/convenient locations to Acadia National Park (3 mins) and Bar Harbor (10 mins). Cabin 17 Info- The pictures online are mostly accurate. There is a bathroom. That might sound silly but it is not pictured and it is unclear in the online description. Its to the left of the closet. You enter the cabin by the screened porch. The door to the cabin has 2 locks but the screened porch door does not. The screen porch had a blue light to prevent attracting bugs, a plastic chair and the air conditioning unit that wasnt being used. There was very little lighting. The number of lamps were not as pictured. We basically only spent time in the cabin when it was dark out and even with all the lights on, it was like being in constant dim light. The cabin had one 3ft strip of a baseboard heater. We turned it up to the max but it still stayed a constant 58-59 degrees inside. We found that the biggest sources of heat loss were from a large gap from the bottom of the front door and shockingly, the shower drain. We covered both and it warmed up slightly to low 60s. The beds had 2 blankets each, but there was no bedding provided for the pullout. There were plenty of plugs everywhere, but none close to the beds. I recommend bringing long cords (at least 6-10ft) if you want to use your phone while laying in bed. The only bed that had a close plug was the pullout. Our beds and belongings were not touched throughout our stay, but the trash/recycling was thrown away and 4 towels/bath mat were replenished daily. The kitchen was supplied with cups, pots/pans, knife block, can opener, coffee maker, dish soap (someone probably left it), utensils, and a toaster. The bathroom had a small wrapped bar of soap but no toiletries. Hangers and luggage rack were supplied in the closet. The kitchen and bathroom sinks were fine, but there was poor water pressure in the shower. Hot water was abundant though. The TV was smaller than what is pictured but had many channels with good reception. My Own Opinions- This location is quite rustic. This is not a hotel and is a common/typical cabin-like atmosphere in the Maine area. You must come to this place expecting that and you will have a pretty good experience. The cabin is clean overall. What is supplied is all different and looks like they all came from a flea market, but were clean. I wish there were more hooks and lighting above the shower in the bathroom. A microwave would have been nice. I liked that our car was parked literally outside our front door. I read multiple reviews about a peeping drunk employee. I did not experience him. I also noticed a big pile of covers/tarps against our cabin which was a little strange and would have been more tasteful if they were moved. The staff were nice and helpful. Biggest issues were lighting and heat. Overall, I would stay here again but during a warmer time.

UnacceptableGirls trip, had rented for two nights over internet. Upon entering room very musty smell, beds didn't appear made(not tucked in, on floor and disheveled) two washcloths but no other linens in bath, as if room had not been serviced. Bathroom floor literally rotted through wood, with linoleum missing in multiple areas. Mold on walls, and patches in shower made of rotted wood. Told young man who checked us in (underage son of owner) scenario, who acted surprised. I gave opportunity for them to make it right, wondering how they could even think to rent such a place out. They were unwilling to provide another room for the original rental rate. We left, and as we were describing our disgust, we were followed by the neighboring cabin residents who were also unhappy.

Worst stay of our lives!!This was this worst place me an my family ever stayed!! Thank goodness Bar Harbor an Arcadia are beautiful, an it is easy to find stuff to do because we literally could not bear to spend time in our cottage. Upon arrival a young boy maybe 13 checked us in running in an out of the house(I believe owners reside in) we were not allowed in which was fine but the whole check in was a bit off we were informed they had no WiFi an the pool was green so it was unable to use which was not advertised in email website or over the phone? When we walked into the screen porch that we were excited about hanging out in we noticed a mildew like smell that was unbearable an when we got inside the cottage the smell was worst! The bed looked like someone had just slept in it an the chairs were stained an disgusting, there was also no cable which really wasnt a big deal minus the fact that it said there was online. I know this is a lot an may seem unreal but none of this was even the worst part as we walked into the kitchen we notice brown water leaking from fridge an mouse dropping on every surface the floor had not been swept or mopped in I dont know how long the ceiling was brown and falling an we could smell propane coming from the stove. In the second bedroom there was a broken futon like literally half of it was on the floor an the windows were open with no screens an the curtain rod was broken an falling, the bedding on the bunk beds was gross an covered in dirt! The floor was not vacuumed!! I thought it couldnt get worst until I entered the bathroom that literally smelt of mold an had broken disgusting slimey plastic liners dirty floors an dripping sinks! I dont know how in the world these people are open for business? When I went to ask for a different cottage I noticed They had marijuana plants growing right outside (I have nothing against growing, but wtf right outside your business?). They would not change our room as the said they had no others available It was Labor Day weekend an we were not able to find another place so we demanded some money back as we were not paying as much as they wanted to stay in this disgusting cottage not that the money returned was worth it as we had to use it to buy cleaning supplies an blankets for our stay. Please do not stay here it just about ruined our vacation they do not have what they say they do online it is not maintained or cleaned which is so unsafe especially during this pandemic we are in right now! Also I have never written a negative review in my life I love giving 5 stars, an I also love camping an roughing it, but we were not prepared for that kind of atmosphere an it really left us uncomfortable,Ive just never been so disappointed in my life!!

DO NOT BOOK HERE!Searched for a cabin with a screen porch and no carpet. These looked fine and reviews were decent. Sorely disappointed! See through blinds, must odors, and owner would not refund 1/2 of 2nd night as policy states. And we wont even talk about the disgusting pool!

Depends on what youre looking for.During these Covid times, we decided not to camp because of restrictions in bath houses. We chose to stay in a cabin. We were here in mid September so didnt need a screened in porch. We stayed in Cabin #11, which was beautifully redone with pine paneling. It was spotless. I would suggest better curtains in living room/ kitchen area as you could see through the bamboo curtains at night. My problem was with the exterior which needed painting, the deck needed to be swept from fallen branches, oak nuts, and shabby deck furniture. The grounds were very poorly tended. There was no privacy between cabins. We were on the left side of driveway. The cabins to the right of the driveway seemed to be in better condition and the cabins had more privacy. Cabin was good for this time of year as we were out during the day and sun sets early, so we werent sitting outside. So, depends on what you need.
