Disappointed and hungryLet's start with the positives..... It was clean and comfortable and in a nice location. The access to the hot spa across the bridge was really good. The thing that let this place down was the food and timings. First day there we went to find the restaurant/buffet called Open. We found it and it was closed (during the hours it should have been open). We had to go the the yuxi restaurant which was OK but still not great food. The next morning we went back down to the Open buffet at 1025 to be told its closed. I thought I'd maybe miss-read the info booklet in the room but double checked and it stated the opening hours were from 0630-2300hrs. The manager said these were their 'operational hours' which means the same thing no? So we went without breakfast. Tried ordering from the room service menu off the ALL DAY menu which states from 11am to 11pm. Only to be told not to use the menu to use the small card in the room instead which wasn't a brilliant selection, basically just pathetic bar snacks, we couldn't even sit down and enjoy our piss poor food together as there was only one chair to sit at the table in the room. The ceasar salad was a joke, some crispy lettuce with a few croutons thrown over it and with approx 15 miniscule crumbs of bacon underneath the lettuce. Went back to the Open restaurant in the evening for the international buffet to be told it was closed due to some course/class being in and booked it. This should have been mentioned when I had booked the placed. We left as soon as we could the last day as both were hungry and fed up of the lies and inconcistancy when it came to getting fed. I'd you do want to stay I'd suggest taking your own food or prepare to be hungry. Better still don't stay here. So we got ushered back through to the Chinese restaurant which had several items not available on the menu. And what did come was mediocre to say the least.

Very strange HiltonI have been to so many Hilton this is the one I found it very NOT Hilton. Only one pack of each of coffee and tea in the room provided. A river around the hotel are unbelievable dirty. Why would they even bother to set a children outdoor playground if there is so much not like a playground.

Hilton only in the nameOk so let's start with positives. The hotel grounds are nice, pool is good, hot springs are beautifully designed and very relaxing, the room was really spacious, bed enormous and comfy, balcony had a fantastic view and it was quiet, which is what you want when you travel to the countryside. Also, there is a plethora of local restaurants right outside offering delicious Hakka food(dont expect anything fancy, they are very simply but dont let the looks deceive you).Hotel has no restaurant to speak of. Negatives:Ground are littered(rubbish pile under a public staircase),poolside is not tidied up in the evening so used up towels etc lying around in the morning, breakfast tables outside were very dirty, breakfast itself was pathetic with hardly any Western options available and Chinese food sub-standard in comparison to even Chinese hotels, not to mention upscale int.ones,no cups/cutlery/salt and pepper or.sugar on the tables,NOTHING,you have to get everything yourself. Its not a hassle, just strange seeing as it's Hilton. No choice of teas, only a huge hot drink machine serving extremely strong black tea, juice did not taste fresh, more like cordial,no fresh bread only toast, etc etc It was very busy but tables did not get cleaned quickly. Not a single smile from any staff, receptionist didnt speak English(at Hilton?!)and ignored me even though the room was booked in my name and paid by me.Even though this is supposed.to be a non smoking hotel, guests smoked inside the reception hall(staff saw but didnt act),in the lifts and in the rooms,I know thid because our room stunk of cigarettes when we entered(not what you want when booking a non smoking room ans staying with a small baby). No social distancing,no masks worn by guests, staff didnt enforce any of it,very surprising because the virus is still out there..Now about the room-dirty.We had to ask for it to be cleaned again.Crumbs all over the floor, very visible, bit of fruit and a wrapper in the shower!Baby cot was simply disgusting,I cant believe a Hilton would offer anyone that, very disappointed.Luckily we got a different one after requesting it.No teaspoons(am I supposed to use my finger to stir my tea??),no.slippers until asked for,but toothbrushes and other disposable items which shouldn't be there according to Guangdong regulation, were there! This hotel is a Hilton only in the name, the management and service are well below standard.I felt like I was staying in a local Chinese hotel pretending to be upscale but without any of the customer service or attention to detail.Very sad because the location is really nice and it could be a wonderful place to stay. To sum up, it's ok for a night if you don't have high expectations, lovely hot springs, don't bother with food.

Needs improvementWe had a large function for work. The catering ran out, so a lot where left very disappointed. The bar was closed the one night and the following night was pure chaos. Waited 30 minutes for a drink and eventually had to cancel the order. The hotel itself is ok, but the rooms need attention. Bathrobe was torn, TV broken, mini fridge empty.
