  A comfortable and friendly stay

  A lovely a very clean room, a warm nice welcome, plenty of coffee, tea etc...really comfortable bed, soft towels and a very nice fair trade shampoo (but only one tiny soap for the two of us for the whole stay...yes I'm sure we could have asked for more). Room is quiet small though, the bulb above the shower stopped working the very next day we arrived and the curtains let all the light through (not much if you like a lay in). If you coming back late, get your torch as no light outside. We truly enjoyed our stay, the surrounding and location are just perfect.

  Windermere break

  I would not class this hotel a 4 star, room was pretty, but not very clean, bed was terribly squeaky, lots of dust around, and the biscuits was very small, bathroom door was a nightmare, and kept sticking, very over priced, no breakfast included.

  Lovely 3 night stay

  I was a little concerned after reading the reviews but we found the hotel to be fine. The size of the room was fine, bed comfortable, nice deco, lovely quiet room. The water pressure in the shower was not very powerful but not an issue really. The bathroom door did not shut but again not really an issue. Great location, would stay again.

  Nice but needs updating

  Stayed here for 4 nights. Saw the owner on arrival (when we paid balance due) but no contact after that. The room contained was big and had a 4 poster bed (the one pictured on the website). However the room was disappointing in several ways. The standard of cleaning leaves a lot to be desired as there were cobwebs in most corners and skirting boards had not be cleaned. The ensuite flooring was clearly not professionally fitted, the shower head was almost impossible to move on the rail and water pressure was variable.The glass shelf, above the basin, was not secure and slopped, hence making it useless. The two antique chairs, in the bedroom, were clearly just for show as both were uncomfortable to sit on. If you are arriving after dark, take a torch as the outside lights were never switched on. This could be a really good guest house if some money was spent updating and maintaining it

  Beautiful guest house in a perfect location

  Were just back from a beautiful mini break in Windermere. We booked the king suite at Hilton House and it did not disappoint. Martin was brilliant from arrival and was really attentive checking in to ensure we were having a lovely time. The room was beautifully clean, and well kept. We were in perfect walking distance between Windermere (less than 10 mins) and Bowness-On-Windermere (15 mins). Would highly recommend!
