  Hilton, one word that describes your stay. If you know Hilton, you dont need a review for this hotel. The brand has kept up to its standard as always. You will never regret staying at a Hilton Hotel.

  beautiful resort by the seaside

  The resort/conference center is absolutely beautiful. The front facade is impressive. The huge lobby leads to the back of the hotel which is equally impressive. There are plenty of open space at the back of the hotel with reflecting pools, swimming pools, walking trails and private white sand beach. The breakfast is sumptuous with many choices of American and Asian food. The rooms are also spacious, with beautiful balcony view of the ocean. This hotel, a 15-20 minute drive from the Provincial and City government buildings and the gigantic HNA Riyue Shopping Plaza, is the perfect place to hold large company retreats.

  100 of us checked in for the final stages of our group tour and the place still felt deserted EXCEPT at breakfast time when everyone seemed to appear all at once. This hotel appears magnificent but scratch a little at the facade and you see the cracks. I think it is older that it appears and this is particularly evident in the power outlets in the rooms, light switches and musty smells in the corridors. That being said, we had a lovely room with a good shower and a comfortable bed and exceptionally attentive housekeeping staff. We did not have much success with meals during our stay. 1 x dinner in Chinese Spice, 1 x lunch in Nodu Noodle Bar and 1 x dinner in Plantation Restaurant. No/minimal English speaking staff means a lot gets lost in the translation. This is a nice hotel probably more targeted at either domestic or Russian holiday market. Service & meals not up to usual Hilton standards for westerners. Dining options particularly during the day were confusing and staff were unable to assist much due to language barrier. The beach was closed for swimming during our stay and frankly I probably wouldn't want to swim there any time. Rubbish had been collected from the beach but still covered in litter & bluebottles. Pools were lovely and surrounding gardens and grounds very peaceful. Lovely for a relaxing stroll. Hotel offers gift shop, convenience store, day spa and more. Certainly a pleasant way to end our tour of China. The Hainese people were very friendly and welcoming.

  A great relaxing hotel

  We stayed here for one night at the end of a tour. Very relaxing. Had a late check out the next day which was very helpful. Could not fault anything. Great room, pools, food, service. Caught the local bus 87 from around the corner to go into Old Street. It would have been nice to have more time to explore the Island further as we only had time to go into Old Street, have a mineral fed spa and relax!

  Not a pleasant trip

  I stayed at this hotel from July 20-24 in 2020. I will list all the situations I have experienced during my stay. If you gonna stay there during the pandemic, this might able to help you. Although called "Meilan", the airport name in Haikou, you'd better not expect to get on shuttle between the hotel and the airport. The hotel offers 3 rides a day in a really limited time from 9 am to 2 pm. The lounge is closed during the pandemic. As compensation, the hotel offers dinner during the stay, which is 150 rmb per person everyday from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. The time restriction is really really annoying when you travel in somewhere you are not familiar. Although there is no much travelers during the pandemic, I can only get an upgrade on view as a diamond member. The following issues I had enforced may happen anytime you stay here other than in the pandemic. The lobby is really hot and there is no AC. The bar and the business center is in the lobby so it would not be a good experience to stay there during the daytime. The hotel is not located in most of the car rental companies offering on-line services(I didn't find any). And there is no car rental in the airport. So there is basically no way to rent a car in advance. The hotel agent will find a car to deliver to the hotel, but there is no invoice and I have not get my deposit back till now. There are ants around the desk in my room. I didn't have any food and only drank water in the room. The hotel cleaned it with acrid sterilized water which really impact my quality of sleep at that night. The AC in the room seems broken. No matter how I adjusted the controller, the temperature fixed at 25 Celsius degree. Not recommended. Especially during the pandemic.
