One nightStayed here overnight for a date night and to visit the casino. It was ok. Not the best but not the worst. The staff was welcoming. The room was very dark due to the red and black carpet with red and tan walls. The room was clean, along with the the bathrooms and linens. We didn't spend time in the room except to sleep so it was ok for one night. We were comfortable sleeping in our room and I would recommend for a quick stay over. A makeover would make this hotel very nice. The hotel has an indoor pool that is open for use. There is a bar off the lobby. I believe it is closed due to COVID.

Huge let down after storm Isaias! We stayed here after we were left without power at home from storm Isaias. Figured this would be a good solution for our family While we waited for the power to be restored. I must preface by saying the night prior we stayed at Foxwoods Grand Pequot tower which was amazing. However they were booked up for the second night so we had to switch hotels since our power had not been restored. The good: We were thankful that Hilton Garden in could accommodate us so last minute since we were a walk in. For that we were very grateful. They even let us check in early around 12:30 which was so great! The hotel was right around the corner from Foxwoods which was helpful! The room was clean and the beds comfy! Also the pool was open which was a huge plus for our daughter. Foxwoods pool was closed. The bad: There were zero hand sanitizing stations. Ok not zero, I saw hand sanitizing wipes that you can pull out near the front entrance. No hand sanitizing stations near the elevators, by the pool, or restaurant area. Also the ice machine was operating, with the scoop that everyone would be touching! Those should be removed for the safety of the guests! Or have a plastic shower for each guest in their room that they use. The only precautionary effort I saw was a sign taped to the wall by the elevators reminding guest that they must wear a face mask and social distance. The hire staff did wear masks. Thankfully I brought my own hand sanitizer and used it often to keep my family safe. The really bad: At around 10:00 we started hearing doors slamming and people talking in the hallways. There was a guy cleaning rooms around us! He was wearing plain clothes and no mask! The doors were slamming consistently! I get the doors are heavy but people are sleeping!! Thankfully my daughter was already sleeping, but it was very disruptive! My husband went down and used the gym and at one point this cleaning person came into our room and turned on the light!! Which terrified me because I was there alone with our young daughter. When I said honey is that you?!? This person turned off the light and shut the door without saying a word!THAT IS NOT OK!! He then proceeded cleaning rooms around us! No apology, not anything! SCARY! When my husband got back he heard the racket outside of the rooms and when I told him what happened he went to the front desk to talk to them about the incident. While the front desk person was apologetic, they did nothing! The noise around us continued. At around 11:45pm we heard super loud vacuuming in the room directly next to us! Why in the world would you be cleaning rooms and running a vacuum at 11:45pm!! It just doesnt make any sense! The disappointing: Breakfast, I tried to order room service or just pickup whichever option they had available for breakfast but no one picked up the phones! After 3 attempts my husband walked down to the front desk they gave him a menus and then said we have to call in the order and then pick up. Again no answer, so he went back downstairs to place the order. They then said they would call when my order was ready. 1 hour goes by no call... so I walked back downstairs! Asked for my order then it was given to me. What a mess! It was a Friday morning and there were barely any people in the hotel. No reason why it should have taken an hour! Should have gone to dunkin across the street. Needless to say we will not be visiting this establishment again. Honestly I expected more out of a Hilton. I need for them to take the safety precautions more seriously so that we can all be safe and help to not spread the virus.

Modern and clean rooms, very nice Jetted Tub, but few Covid precautions!I recently stayed one night at the Hilton Garden Inn on my way back to RI from NJ. This was my first time staying at a Garden Inn but have stayed at Hampton Inn's which use the same soaps/shampoos etc. I arrived late, just past 10pm, and while two people were working, it still took about 25 or so minutes to complete check in and get my room key. The gentlemen working the desk seemed a bit flat, and perhaps stressed, as it was a Friday night and the hotel seemed busy. I was disappointed when I walked in to see a family ahead of me, seemingly staying after a sporting event as a boy had a large bag, and he and his father were NOT WEARING MASKS while checking in, and staff didn't seem to say anything. I also did not see any hand sanitizer any where and was disappointed to not see any by elevators. By elevators were slow, as there are only two for a massive hotel, I was on the 4th floor, and at times had to wait several minutes. It also will stop on every floor down if others are trying to get on, which was annoying, as I found out when I checked out! So after getting my belongings, I go up to the top floor, to room 457, and my jetted tub room was at the end of a long hallway, and on the way to it there was 5-7 people lingering in the hallway. I waited in a more open area for 3 of them to walk by before getting into the narrower end, but others continued to linger, younger guys/teens, and I practically had to push my way past them to get to my room. Luckily, once inside, and after sanitizing all surfaces, I was finally able to relax, and enjoy the room. The room was really nice, very spacious, very high ceilings which made it feel even bigger, and the room seemed pretty clean. They claim they extensively cleaned the room, but when you wipe things down yourself, you find some filth, and the coffee area/counter was very dirty/sticky! The bathroom was very spacious, comfortable, large, and the jetted tub was relaxing and roomy! It takes about 20 or so minutes to fill but is worth it. The next morning I realized I have to spin the white disk to make jets stronger. The shower was a stand up, had enough space to move around, and the water pressure was by far the strongest of any hotel I have ever stayed at. The strongest jet was like showering with a pressure washer! The bed was comfortable, large pillows, and clean sheets. I did hit my leg against the wooden platform bed frame however. Overall it was one of the nicer rooms I have stayed in for the area, and was a good price/value for this particular night, compared to the competition. Overall, the hotel has a great location right across from Foxwoods. They offer food in the restaurant, but I skipped the breakfast, as they charge, and got Dunkin' from across the street after checking out. Loved the Keurig in the room though! I would stay again when in the area, would recommend to others overall, but do feel the hotel is doing little to nothing to protect guests from Covid. When I came in, there were like 7 mask-less smokers right by the main entrance puffing away which was disturbing. Some sat on a patio area which is fine but right by the door you have to enter through was disappointing! I will likely return but perhaps after the pandemic!

Could be cleaner. Close to FoxwoodsHilton Preston We got room for a decent price on a Monday to Wednesday and it was empty and quiet. There was a hair on the tub. I just cleaned it up with a sani wipe because I didn't feel like changing rooms. Compensated with some points. Strong flush toilets. Some black stuff on grout near tub. Otherwise clean. Some dust in areas of room and in corners of carpets. Comfortable bed but pillows are too soft. Linens felt and smelled fresh. Plenty of drawers for clothes. Roomy closet. Luggage rack thing was falling apart. Nice seating areas throughout lobby and outside. Wonderful front desk staff. Very pleasant. Asked if we wanted room cleaned the next day, we declined. Always love Hilton Gardens microwave, fridge, coffee area. It was clean. High ceilings on fourth floor but not sloped as I had hoped. I chose a room facing the back. It was quiet, view was just woods. Literally 3 minutes to Foxwoods. You can probably see it from a front-facing room. Convenient but could have been a bit cleaner. Pool was pretty clean, some grit on bottom, and warm. The pool room was nice and warm too. Plenty of towels. Bathrooms with showers in pool area. Outdoor hot tub great, but be sure to turn the timer on for maximum jet pressure.
