  Couldnt sleep

  The hotel is packed even during COVID. Possibly due to the fact that lots of people got their room from the casinos comp. Parking lot is shared with the casino and its packed. Everything in the hotel screams old. We were driving home from Utah to Chicago and I stayed at 5 different hotels before staying at this Hilton. Before we sit down, we wiped down everything with Lysol in the hotel rooms. Therere quite a bit of dust in our room in this hotel. 10 minutes after I lay in bed, I just started coughing nonstop. Did not happen in all previous hotels. Then the refrigerator started to vibrate and the noise just wouldnt go away. I unplugged it. The hotel is quite close to the rail yard and trains started sounding its horn at like 5am. I did not really sleep at all. We just pack our stuff and left at 6am. This Hilton is more like the casinos own hotel. It is adjacent to the casino. If you want a pleasant night of sleep, look elsewhere. Look for a hotel thats far from the casino.

  AVOID

  Bed sheet on one of the beds had not been changed- AWFUL!! I called front desk and requested new sheets, took 3 calls and 2 visits to the lobby, finally 50min later sheets were delivered. I paid for breakfast and while the breakfast staff was efficient the food was tasteless. This hotel is skimping on cleanliness, find another hotel.

  Typical of the chain, which is good

  We stopped in August 2020. Covid protocol in effect, so no buffet breakfast. We are Hilton gold and got made to order breakfast complimentary. The restaurant was not busy but obviously had some operational problems on the cooking side. The simple breakfast took a long time and we noticed servers going back to help the cook. Meal was ok except toast was cold. The room was typical and fine. This hotel is connected to the Horseshoe Casino. The parking close to hotel is tight as casino guests take spots intended for hotel.

  Comfortable, Covid safe... but the Q-tip

  Aware of Covid-safe behaviors, and all employees were masked and used appropriate spacing. The room had a seal on the door to indicate a high level of cleaning, but ironically there was a used Q-tip on the floor that was missed. The room had nice beds with good pillows, a roomy fridge and a small microwave. The TV was functional. The shower was adequate but had fairly low water pressure in the evening we were there. At another time in history we would have used the restaurant and the attached casino, but in these Covid times, we did not.

  Disappointing from Hilton

  I am a Hilton Rewards member and go out of my way to stay at a Hilton property anytime I can. I generally have never been disappointed. Well there is a first time for everything. The property is located at the casino so that may have something to do with, but I hope not. I was actually looking forward to hitting the casino during my stay. Parking is a bit of an issue. When I arrived I handed the desk clerk a copy of my email confirmation, now mind you he took it and never acknowledge me with a welcome or even eye contact, not word was spoken until he handed me the room keys and said "the elevator is down the hall and to your right." That is the only words that were spoken, it was the worst check in experience that I've had. The room was clean and up to Hilton standards, this was the only pleasant part of the stay. We had a room above us that had some running from one side to the other to the wee hours of the night. We called the front desk to complain and were told if they got a chance they would investigate. This went on and on, so we called again and were told that they were busy and probably wouldn't be able to do anything about it. We were going to have breakfast the next morning before we left and when we got to the dining area we found none of the tables had been cleaned yet so there was no where to sit, and this had nothing to do with the limited number of seats they just hadn't cleaned any of the table and it appeared they were in no hurry to do so. We decided to eat elsewhere so I proceeded to the desk to check out and my check out experience wasn't really any better than my check in experience. If in Council Bluffs maybe look to stay somewhere else, and I can't believe I'm saying this regarding a Hilton property.
