  No security. Vehicle broken into.

  We booked a 3 night stay here December 3rd to December 6th. Our first night here our truck was broken into in the garage. We were parked in a well lit area in valet parking. The front desk informed us there is no security or security cameras in their garage and that there was nothing that could be done for us. Do not waste your money staying here.

  Smug/unaccommodating staff

  Hotel is good, but staff was not. We had issues with the HHonors reservation site and the staff was not helpful at all. I attempted to rectify situation over phone with no success. The family member traveling was rudely spoken to as well by staff behind desk. Good news is with better training this can be address/improved.

  lack of customer service

  When I spoke with the hotel's FD manager or AGM all he wanted to do was argue without even trying to help come up with a solution. I tried to speak with someone else but no luck. I feel sorry for all those who have ever tried to work with him.

  Good but not great

  We usually love HGI's. I think COVID cleaning protocols are messing with housekeeping at many establishments, this one included. While our room was sealed as having been sanitized, I wouldn't have called it clean. Even before COVID, I would've expected no hair on the shower wall, no dirt or hair behind the toilet (which honestly looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months), no crumbs and hair under the vanity, and certainly no crumbs or used plastic spoon near the bed (see picture). The rooms were comfortable and the beds very comfortable. There was a bunch of noises coming through the walls/ceiling but we were on the shared wall of the elevator and it could've been that. It wasn't bothersome though. The usually wonderful serve-to-order breakfast is being offered with considerable distancing between tables. We weren't hungry so didn't take advantage of the breakfast at this hotel. Staff was very polite. Surprisingly, the gentleman who check us out this morning was very concerned about the lack of cleaning in our room and refunded our parking fee. Thank you for that. Speaking of, it is $29/night for self-park in a covered garage shared by the Home2Suites. Great location! Close enough to walk to the original Hattie B's Hot Chicken, original Gigi's Cupcakes, and other nice restaurants and bars. Overall, they say they have a free shuttle to downtown. That's a nice perk and you'd be away from the hubbub and close to Hattie B's!! I would stay here again, giving the cleaning staff another chance once COVID has settled down.

  Terrible road noise and less than enthusiastic front desk

  I should have taken the meh and rushed greeting when I checked in as a warning sign. I arrived and quickly readied to meet some people for dinner. I took note that the road noise was horrible and the AC fan wouldnt stay on circulating to drone out the sounds. I spoke with the front desk on my way to dinner and they said they would send someone up while I was gone. Upon return at 11 pm, I found no change. I called the front desk again and she said she would send someone up...20 min later, no one had come. I started to get ready for bed and then thought NO WAY would I be able to sleep with the cars roaring by outside. I promptly checked out and went to another Hilton property .6 miles away where I had a wonderful sleep. I will argue this charge with my credit card since trying to call this hotel to discuss this morning was only met with an unanswered front desk phone. Oh, did I mention the strong marijuana smells in the parking garage everywhere I went? Just an overall bad experience!
