Not a clean stay, no covid cleanliness confidenceThis hotel did not follow any of the HiltonCleanStay principals from what I can tell. No seal on the door, nothing special about the room being cleaned, it all looked very normal and no confidence at all that this room was sanitized. Asked for room to be cleaned, nothing happened. Hotel staff wore masks in common areas, but that was it. This hotel looked like a pre-Covid hotel, one that I would not have considered clean before 2020. I was really disappointed because I have slept here before and it was very nice, today, I would not recommend it. Only bright spot was breakfast, cook and staff was very good, solid kitchen staff.

Wonderful hotel with great food!Pre-COVID we were on a college visit to check out Texas Tech and decided to stay at Hilton Garden Inn based on the reviews (#1 hotel in Lubbock). So glad we did as we loved it! It is located only a short drive to Texas Tech, has outstanding service, the decor is very attractive, it feels new, and is inexpensive. The only things I can think of that could be better is the shower (could be stronger water pressure and didnt love the soft water), plus wish they had a safe for locking up laptops / tablets when you need to leave the room - but this is typically of many hotels. The Garden Inns beds were very comfortable, the room was quiet (no outside noise), it had adequate wifi, and all the staff were super friendly and helpful. I was going to request late check-out, but their standard checkout is already 12:00 which was fine. If youre a diamond member, there is also several dedicated parking spaces for you near the door. I dont get that perk, but since Im a gold member, we did have 2 free bottles of water in the room, plus a complimentary breakfast for me and one guest. At most motels this means youre getting a pretty basic offering. Not here - their breakfast was outstanding. It is a sit-down restaurant with choices from a menu and buffet (juice, waffles, fruit, yogurt, cereal, breads). The menu had omelettes, made to order eggs, pancakes, french toast, sausage, bacon, etc. On our second day (Saturday), the waitress mentioned that they also had a special which was really good and would I like to try it? I wasnt sure since it was made with red sauce and I typically like green - but she finally convinced me as she kept saying how delicious it was. I also thought it must have an extra fee - but she said no, it was included. Anyway - I ordered it and it came with refried beans and white cheese enchiladas on the bottom, topped with your style eggs (I got over easy), a few strips of steak, red sauce, and queso cotija. It was awesome and I kept raving about it to my family to the point Im sure I was annoying. I also enjoyed hot tea and fresh fruit for breakfast (strawberries, blue berries, pineapple, and cantaloupe from the buffet). And if you dont have gold or diamond membership - it is only $11.99 - well worth it! If my son decide on Tech, we will definitely be back. P.S. Glad to hear they have addressed the COVID concerns raised by others. I would hate for such a great hotel to lose business / loss of reputation due to the pandemic.

Not a clean hotel2nd stay in less than 30 days. Stay at Hilton hotels weekly for work even now. Long time Diamond member. This Garden Inn needs a deep cleaning in my opinion. Had the same experience here a year ago, thought I would give it another try. Disappointed again. Note to management, please dont spend your time responding here, instead spend it on inspecting. Thanks Loyal member!!

Always great, clean, friendly, great breakfastMy 3rd time at this hotel. The place is clean and nice. The staff is always amazing. I had breakfast at their restaurant during this stay, also fantastic. My go to place in Lubbock. Highly recommended.

DIAMOND & GOLD MEMBERS NOT TREATED WELL!!!We are current guests. As business travelers, we only stay at Hilton hotels as top level members. Front desk staff was non existent for check in. Montana checked us in, did not give us our waters NOR did she inform us there was NO DINNER SUNDAY evening nor NO BREAKFAST ON MONDAY MORNING. The staff had their DAY OFF! Totally NOT HILTON STANDARDS! WE NEEDED a breakfast prior to our meetings Monday am. We were not offered our points for the lack of a meal. Out of all the Hilton Hotels we have stayed at for years, we were/are in SHOCK at the lack of "HOSPITALITY" in this hotel. I was a HILTON executive handling corporate accounts and this is NOT ACCEPTABLE business guest treatment.
