  Beautiful Property, As Expected From This Brand

  Hubby and I love to stay at Hilton Garden Inns because, while being upscale enough for us to feel comfortable, most are also reasonably priced. The Covington location didn't disappoint. We were warmly greeted by the night desk clerk. Mask-wearing was required of all hotel guests but, when we informed her of our religious exemption, there was no insistence on compliance with the hotel chain's draconian policy. Our king room was very comfortably furnished, including an easy chair with ottoman, large desk with plentiful electrical outlets, 3-drawer dresser, flat screen TV and plenty of lamps. Amenities included blackout blinds, a mini-refridge, microwave and a Keurig coffee maker, which we consider a must-have amenity during our travels. We were also pleased with the complimentary bottles of Ozarka spring water. While some of the other Hilton Garden Inns are cheaping out with Nestle Pure Life, the Covington location still cares about providing high quality products for its guests. The bathroom was large with a full size tub, beautiful granite countertop with plenty of room for personal care products, and a large mirror, plentiful towels, and hair dryer. Toiletries are Neutrogena brand and included shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, make up wipe, and bar soap. Other necessities provided were a luggage rack, iron and board, and laundry service if needed. The hotel is 100% non-smoking, which we consider important in choosing a place to stay. The only problem we encountered was the pillows. They're a tad too soft. It would be nice if Hilton Garden provided pillow firmness options. The other issue was that the restaurant wasn't open because the facility is currently operating at partial staff due to lack of travelers. But the pantry was fairly well filled with microwaveable options if you needed a bite in the wee hours. All in all, this was a lovely stay. The location is very convenient to interstate travelers. We wouldn't hesitate to return.

  Older Hilton Garden Inn, conveniently located. The staff here are wonderful, but the hotel is in need of a renovation. Rooms are spacious, but the carpet is in serious need of replacement. Overall, a good experience.

  IS THIS HILTON'S PHILOSOPHY???

  I guess the sign on their door... EVERYONE NEEDS TO WEAR A MASK... it's a " do as I say, not as I do"???? Lady at the front desk: mask around her chin. Housekeeper on 2: mask around her chin. Housekeeper on 1: no mask at all. You want people to be comfortable to travel but when you don't follow your own rules, how can a person be comfortable??? Maybe the way should be air b&b??? Book on line, no interaction with others that don't want to follow the company's rules. Or maybe it's"the cats away, so the mice will play"??? If management isn't on the house, no one will catch them??? If you want to travel and feel safe, following the guidelines of the hotel, maybe stay somewhere else.

  Great Location

  Located at I-12 and hwy 190, you cant beat the location for easy access to anywhere in Covington/Mandeville/Madisonville, or even access to the causeway and the New Orleans area. Visiting during the global pandemic, I was impressed with their level of cleanliness, and the ability to check in/out through the app and use keyless entry, so we never had any contact with the hotel staff. There were a few things about this visit that were quite disappointing: the mattress was oldthere was a deep body imprint on one side of the bed, that was attempted to be remedied my a mattress topper that was about 6 inches too short for the mattress. Second, the water pressure in the shower was almost non-existentI have long hair, and it was a nightmare trying to wash all the shampoo out. There did seem to be plenty of hot water, though! As long as youre willing to trade a mediocre nights sleep and a disappointing shower for a great location, this is the place to stay!
