Has potentialIm not sure if Covid made this place the dumps or if its just the normal. The pool and whirlpool are out. The TV has no service. The hideaway bed was dirty with no linens. Only enough towels were supplied for 2 people (there are 3 of us). Check in was 2 hour behind so I had to waitwith 2 kids. Perksstaff was friendlybut no follow through with the TV issue. I really had to be creative on what to do with my kids in the hotel. We will not be staying here again. Kind of a disaster, really! Ive never had such a poor hotel experience before.

Not the best, not the worstStayed there with 2 friends for a long weekend. When we arrived no one was at the front desk. The bartender (who was not wearing a mask) had to go find him. He (didn't catch his name, tall middle eastern man.) was outside on the phone. He had a mask on but had it pulled down below his chin. (Why wear one then?) He checked us in and handed me the key cards, told me the room number but then didn't say what direction to go. He seemed to have more important things to do. When we got to our room, there were NO towels. But we did have a dirty used washcloth left hanging in the shower. So we went back down to ask for towels. This time there was another family waiting to check in and again no one was standing at the front desk. Someone had to go get the same man, who AGAIN, was outside talking on his cell phone. We got our towels after specifically asking for each type towel even after we said we had exactly zero of everything. That night we realized that we also had very little toilet paper. So the next day when we got back from the beach we asked the front desk woman (who again had a mask on but had it pulled down past her chin) for some more towels and toilet paper. She said she would bring them up to our room. Well she remember the towels but never got the toilet paper. So the next day, yet again we had to ask only to be told that they'll bring it up. Then they forgot again, but came back later. They weren't cleaning the rooms at all due to Covid, which I understand but they should have at least properly stocked and cleaned the room. The hotel is right next to the highway so it can be loud in the room at times. The pool and restaurant were both closed due to the pandemic. There is a Wal-Mart and Mejiers right down the road.

Decent stayAfter reading the reviews prior to our stay I was a little scared to stay here, however it was just like any other hotel stay Ive been too. We are never picky when we travel, so Im sure my review wont be helpful for those who expect greatness. It was my husband, myself and a three year old. We arrived a little before check in time and easily checked in with a pleasant host who was wearing a mask. There were a few areas of hand sanitizer stations in the lobby. The room was clean, as was the fitness room and pool which we used. The only things that I could have complained about was the proximity to the highway, but that is partially our fault for choosing to stay here. The noise was louder than the Fairfield Inn off exit one where we usually stay in New Buffalo. The smoke detector in the room set off an extremely bright flash of light every 5 seconds that was very visible when the lights were off that scared our daughter, but again thats not really anyones fault. And the half and half cups for the coffee seemed to be expired because they were half solid but Im assuming theyve sat there awhile because of covid. I used the coffeemate creamer instead.

Another nice Hilton property... pleasant stay!I was on a weekend trip with a friend of mine in the Benton Harbor/St. Joseph area in February 2021 and we had the opportunity to spend a night at this Hilton Garden Inn. Altogether, our experience was pleasant. We arrived around 3 p.m. on Saturday to check in. Our check-in process went smoothly... no complaints there. Our room (#407) was clean and comfortable. During the COVID pandemic, certain amenities like breakfast and the lobby bar were not available, but that was to be expected. I was slightly disappointed that the business center was not open (because I usually like to use the hotel computers during my stays), but it looked like the computers were out of order. No biggie because I'm sure that was just a temporary issue. We loved the fact that the indoor pool and hot tub were open, and the hot tub was nice and hot which was greatly appreciated. Also, we were pleased that the staff kept the pool open a bit past their closing time so that my friend and I could use the hot tub in the peace and quiet without a lot loud kids using it as well. (There were quite a few kids staying at this hotel when we were there.) Altogether, we really enjoyed our stay and I would have no qualms about staying here again in the future if I ever have the opportunity to do so.

Dirty floorsCOVID has become the excuse for poor just about everything. Dirty floor in our room-shoes kept sticking. I spilled a little coffee so I washed it with a hand towel. The towel was black with was black with filth. I took it to the desk. They were sooo sorry. There is no housekeeping due to COVID unless you request it. Really? But they charge full price for a dirty room and still I have not talked to an actual manager nor they to me. Not only would never come here again, I will never deliberately book with a Hilton property.
