Negative all the way around...Y'all. I absolutely HATE leaving negative reviews. I can usually find a silver lining or something to make a negative experience an ok experience. Not quite the case here. We were booked into room 269 which is a Deluxe King room. I booked this type of room specifically because it showed a tub in the photos online and advertised a shower/tub in the description. We were in the area because we would be hiking through Palo Duro Canyon for three days. The bathtub was something I heavily desired so that I could soak my sore feet and muscles after the long days. I know, it's a silly thing to be upset over, but if you're going to advertise a perk, it should be provided. I am a Hilton Honors member so checked in on the app instead of interacting with people at the front desk. We opened the door into our room and found the world's worst designed bathroom with no tub, just a shower. We called down to the front desk to see if we could be switched to another room. Without hesitation, the gentleman said the hotel was booked completely. He didn't look at our reservation to see that we'd be here for 4 nights (perhaps something would open up later) and offered no other concession or help. With nothing to be done, we started to unpack. That's when I noticed the hand towel on the bathroom counter with what I'm guessing was beard trimmings from the previous guests. In normal circumstances, I'd think it was gross and just toss the towel on the floor and not use it. However, with the current day cleaning measures that Hilton says they're taking, I'm wondering what else this hotel isn't cleaning. If it didn't swap out a dirty towel for a clean one, what else isn't being changed? We called down again and requested clean towels which they DID bring up pretty quickly. Other complaints about the hotel: Someone spilled a drink in the elevator and it took an entire day before it was cleaned. How often are they cleaning high traffic areas? Signs everywhere requiring people to wear a mask and yet every night there were small groups of people hanging out in the lobby and sitting areas with no masks. One night, even the woman at the front desk didn't have a mask on and she had to scramble to put one on when we came in. Overall, our view of the staff was that they were unhelpful and unfriendly. The hotel itself is in desperate need of refurbishment in the rooms (which I believe is currently happening). The areas that I'd expected to be clean weren't and the room we paid for was not as advertised. If we ever visit this area again, we definitely won't be staying here.

Good nights restThis hotel is right off the interstate with lots of restaurants nearby. We checked in late (10pm) and the receptionist was friendly and got us checked in quickly. There were bagels, apples and coffee set out for breakfast the next day. The rooms were clean and spacious.

GoodWe arrived late and did all our checking in via the app. Good thing because the clerk was pretty flustered with a phone call he was on when we walked in and the phone rang again while we were standing there. I only wanted the bottles of water which he got for us without issue. He was polite. Room was clean and the bed comfortable. The ONLY complaint was the water in The bathroom. Sink only had cold water and the shower pressure was awful. Breakfast was a breakfast bar & apple or a bagel to go. Bagel could not be toasted that I saw. Overall, Would stay again.

Terrible ServiceTerrible Staff & Rooms arent being cleaned enough. Booked-in online, called the front desk what time we could check-in earlier and front desk was very rude over the phone. When we arrived on the check-in time, they made us wait 30 more minutes because the room wasnt cleaned yet. Once we got our rooms, we happen to notice there was cologne/perfume smell still on the bed sheets and assumed that the sheets werent changed. So, we had our sheets changed. The bathrooms showers arent great. The heater is weak, theres a lot of leakage in the faucet during shower, and the tub drains so slow. Bathroom complimentary are good tho. Toilet paper is comfortable, not too thin. They give you free water bottles at this hotel. Breakfast isnt great at this hotel, they dont have milk here. Theyre greedy with the snack prices here. Entering the parking lot to the hotel is somewhat difficult when coming from I-40 during construction. Plenty of parking lots available.

Decent spot to spend the nightThe Hilton Garden Inn was a decent spot to spend the night. Through no fault of their own, access was a little tricky due to extensive construction happening on the I40, which is literally on their doorstep. They handed us water bottles at check-in, which I always appreciate, and our room was large, clean and comfy. Despite the proximity of the highway, I couldnt hear it from the room. Everyone employees and guests wore masks. There was a to go bag with water, a cereal bar and an apple at check-out. I know Texas doesnt get snow often, but as it melted and the temperature dropped at night, it formed giant ice patches in the parking lot. There didnt seem to be any salt to melt it. Unfortunately, I slipped getting to my car. No harm done but not the best way to start a long day of driving.
