Wonderful StaffWe rented 2 King rooms, 1 was fir 1 night and the other for 2. Arrived at 9pm and were only people in the lobby. Receptionist was professional, courteous and quick! I think her name was Amy. Our rooms were recently renovated and super large (we were upgraded to King suites). Room 117 had a faint musty odor to it but everything thing else was terrific! Will return and stay again.

Another (Mini) Hilton Odyssey in the Covid Era! Nights 2 and 3 of a 4 Night Semi Cross Country TripNights 2 and 3 consisted of staying in a corner room of the Hilton Conference Center in College Station. Once we dropped off our daughter in Arkansas (see my Hilton mini Odyssey Night 1 review) we headed on down to College Station so my husband could make a business trip to a customer. This hotel was very pretty, something of a step above a Garden Inn or Embassy Suites. It's a great big conference center, and it looks classy. While hubby was at his customer's place I stayed back to play on the internet some, took a walk around the area (70 degrees in January? Heck yeah!) and tortured myself on the treadmill to get some exercise in, because sitting for 8 to 10 hours a day in a car and eating out for 4 days is not a good way to start the year, healthwise. Their exercise room was really nice - there were 4 Precor treadmills with preloaded programs in them, several different weights of medicine balls, a stationary bike, several sets of hand weights and a big old Precor weight machine. A large section of the room was matted so if you wanted to do Yoga you definitely could. I don't do yoga in public - nobody wants to see that, so I stuck with the treadmill. There was no manager reception or breakfast, which I consider a drawback because there's only so many Starbucks breakfast sandwiches I can handle in one trip. The restaurant was closed completely but I don't think they offer breakfast as part of the stay anyway. The bar was open, though, the bartender was friendly and the drinks she served were made well. The other staff we encountered were just fantastic. When I was there by myself I figured we'd save the maid a room cleaning and was setting our trash outside the door so they could just empty it when I heard a 'thunk'. I'd locked myself out of the room with no key, no mask and no phone. Fortunately there was a house phone just down the hall so I used it to call the front desk and explained how stupid I was. I wish I could remember the name of the receptionist on duty (this was Monday January 4th during the morning), but she was so kind and came immediately to let me in to the room. I was telling her what I was doing and she didn't smirk or anything, she just smiled and immediately asked if there was anything we needed, like fresh towels. We didn't, so she just wished me a good day. What a thoughtful employee! My stupidity wasn't over though: we brought back dinner to the hotel that night and in my earlier walking around I'd found a nice outdoor area with tables and chairs, and since we don't get to eat outside in January back in Ohio we decided to eat out there. We checked with Courtney, who was the receptionist at the time, to make sure it was ok first (you never know) and she very cheerfully assured us it was, going so far as to direct us back that way and explain that they had a lower level of tables as well. It was lovely eating out there, so much so that I left my purse hanging on the chair. Completely forgot it. Courtney was still on duty though, and was able to help locate my purse and keep it safe behind the desk for me. What a life saver! I hope the management here appreciates their staff. These two ladies are wonderful. As for the room, it was very comfortable, and nice and quiet. There was a small stain on the carpet right at the connecting door, but since we weren't over there it didn't bother me. One of the lamp shades had a - tear, I guess you'd call it, but all the lamps worked. One thing I'd ask to change is to make the lights much brighter. It was fairly dim in the room even with all the lights on, and the bathroom was way too dark. I'd never stayed in a corner room before and really enjoyed the extra windows, especially being in the room as long as I was. The bed was very comfortable and I slept great, and the pillows - well, they were still hotel pillows, but at least these were supportive. The shower was just ok - they need to use the same shower heads as they have at that Embassy Suites back in Little Rock, because most women who have longish hair like me need that I-want-it-like-a-fire-hose water pressure to get all the stuff out of our hair. Overall we really enjoyed staying here. The room and bed were very comfortable, the exercise room was nice and staff was fantastic. If they make a hot breakfast part of the stay I'll have to find a reason to come back to College Station. :)
