  Nice one-nighter

  I spent one night here on business. The hotel is apparently renovating and everything that is new looks great. I had a problem with the TV that caused a room change but they handled things very well. Staff was great. Location is great. I would definitely stay here again the next time Im in Birmingham.

  Very good accommodations.

  We stayed here on our way to CA. The staff were great, the place is clean, and the even offer a grab and go breakfast. It is very quiet and pleasant. Very welcome after a long drive. Sad that the bar and restaurant were closed.

  Very Clean and Excellent Staff But...

  Staff could not have been more helpful or friendlier and COVID prevention practices were in place. Our room had no microwave. We had two cups for cold drinks and two cups for coffee. We checked in for a three night stay and were told there would be no cleaning services unless we requested and we should put garbage and used linens outside the door. That was fine; however, for two people and a 3 night stay, we had 2 towels, 2 bath cloths and 2 hand towels. We were advised we would need to contact the front desk for more towels. We did not have breakfast since we were told upon arrival it was $15.99 per person. Neither of us eat a big breakfast and definitely would not pay that amount for a muffin, piece of fruit and coffee. Probably our last stay here.

  Pre visit gripe.

  The last 3 times we've visited this hotel we've requested a 2 rm suite, HC accessible King Bed with roll in shower. Twice we called in advance to confirm room request and were told our requested room was available only to get to the hotel and had a smaller room with tub. We're both handicapped and hard to use a tub. We're due to check in Thursday night and, again, requested room was not reserved... this will be our last time at this hotel.

  I like the hotel, but...

  This is a nice hotel. The lobby is modern and the bar is pretty cool. The surrounding area is also loaded with great restaurants on either side of the freeway. My room was decent size and well furnished. It seems as if the rooms were renovated not too long ago. The bed was plush and comfortable and the Samsung TV is about as large and nice as youll find in any hotel. The staff isnt overly friendly, but they are professional, and lets face it, Im not coming to a hotel to make friends. My only knock, and theres not much the hotel can do about it at this point, is that the bathroom at least in my room was tiny. Im talking when you push in the door to enter, it clears the toilet bowl by like an inch, maybe two tops. It feels like a phone booth in the bathroom. Its okay for a 1-2 night stay, but if I was staying for a week, Id probably look elsewhere to stay.
