  Lovely place to stay

  Interesting old house with charming hosts well situated for the golf course, distillery,bookshops and other local attractions Our dietary requirements were catered for very well. Felt very comfortable with the anti covid 19 measures

  A perfect stay

  We really enjoyed our three night stay at Hillcrest House, particularly as we were made so welcome by Nicola and Andy. They really have got all the elements of bed and breakfast down to a tee. Our room was huge with a gorgeous view of farmland and the Solway Firth, the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom spotless. The tasty breakfasts were freshly made to order, plentiful and served with a smile by Nicola. We also enjoyed the evening meals which we had - delicious home cooking by Andy. Nicola gave us plenty of tips and ideas for things to do and we fell in love with the local area. We enjoyed exploring the sweet little seaside villages and the Lochs and walks around Galloway Forest. We wouldnt hesitate to recommend this B and B to anyone looking for a comfortable and relaxed stay in this beautiful and empty area of Scotland.

  Fantastic hotel!

  We stayed at Hillcrest for one night (we were house hunting in the area). The hotel is beautiful. The room was fab with amazing views. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. The couple running it were so friendly and went out of their way to do us a vegan breakfast (best cooked tomatoes I've ever had!). I would definitely recommend it.

  Lovely short stay

  Came down to wigtown for 2 nights. Honestly cannot fault this hotel. The hosts were lovely, the room was spacious and well equipped, and the breakfasts were generous. The evening meals were remarkable as well, good home cooking! Properly dog friendly. Had an amazing time and can't wait to come again!

  A most excellent stay

  Our stay at Hillcrest House was short but memorable for the warmth of the hosts, the supreme comfort of the bed after a very long drive and the tasty home cooked breakfast. Nicky and Andy were a delight - welcoming and just the right degree of chatty. The room was of generous size and the shower lovely and hot! Very conveniently located for us in Wigtown - a place we've not really explored and now can't wait to come back to do just that; especially during the book festival! This short stay was surprisingly wonderful and we look forward to our return visit.
