Fall in VermontWhat a magical place to visit, Hill Farm Inn in Sunderland, Vermont! Kate & Eric at the Inn were a delight as was the Madeline Cottage. The cottage was spotless, well appointed with everything to make your stay comfortable & cozy. A coffee station with choices of coffee & teas as well as a refrigerator full with homemade biscotti, fresh berries, yogurt & juice for the morning. The breakfasts that were delivered each morning were unbelievable; fresh, delicious & healthy. We would not hesitate to recommend and revisit! Thanks for a great trip!

Relaxing, Safe, Friendly and BeautifulOur 11-hour drive fron Northville, MI was well worth every minute. Kate and Eric could not have been better hosts. There are plenty of things to do at the Inn and nearby - Arlington and Manchester were great villages to walk around, the Lyly Brook Falls hike was spectacular, Mad Tom's Orchard was a treat. We will be back!

Good for The SoulWe had never stayed at an Inn and wanted a quaint New England Fall experience. Hill Farm Inn exceeding our expectations on every level. The property exterior is warm and inviting and the interior; immaculate and well appointed. Breakfast was absolutely delicious, especially the biscuits! I truly loved the location. Just a short drive to Manchester Village, it is set apart from other Inns, quite with spacious grounds, stunning mountain views and magnificent sunsets. The Alpaca's are a plus and so are the midnight stars! The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Kate was kind and heartfelt when we told her that this was just the kind of getaway we needed coming off Covid19 lockdown in NYC and my husband getting a clean bill of health after undergoing radiation therapy! We will keep this place close to our hearts.

Perfect in every wayThis place is wonderful. The grounds are absolutely incredible - there's a walking path to a river, very cute alpacas, amazing mountain views all around you, so quiet and peaceful. We stayed in the farmhouse, which is clean and lovely and felt very Covid-safe. They delivered delicious hot breakfasts to the house every morning. Kate and Eric are so kind and always there when you need anything. It's a great place for a couple, but we brought our 4-yr old who was enchanted and went sledding on the property's hills and said he wanted to live there. Will be back!

Repeat happy visitorWe first stayed at Hill Farm Inn in 2019 and immediately vowed to return. From the bucolic setting and beautiful grounds, to the fresh and delicious breakfast, this is the perfect weekend getaway. We finally returned in January 2021, amid the specter of COVID-19, and had an equally lovely experience. We were sad to learn that the friendly barn cat, Milo, had passedbut quickly discovered that his replacements were just as full of personality and affection We also hung out with the alpacas that live on site, relaxed in the hot tub amid subzero temperatures, and ventured into nearby Manchester where some solid dinner options await. The appeal of this place lies in the small touches: from the throws and board games placed by the fire, to the abundant towels and comfy robes in your room, youll feel cozy and at home throughout your stay. The place is always spotlessly clean, and Kate and her staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome. During this past stay, because of COVID, breakfast was scheduled to be delivered to our room instead of eaten downstairs. I lamented that perhaps this meant that, this time around, I wouldnt get to eat THE BEST DAMN SCONES IVE EVER HADtheyre usually served up in abundance in the breakfast room. However, I was pleased to learn that I was wrong: warm, crumbly, buttery scones accompanied our breakfast again. Man, I dont know how they do it, but theyre amazing. Everything else was fresh, perfectly presented and unbelievably satisfyingIve genuinely had much less compelling breakfasts at 4 or 5 star resorts! Anyway, I cant say enough good things about this place. This isnt the place to go if youre looking for a fast-paced weekend, but its absolutely the perfect escape if youre looking to relax, slow down, and enjoy nature. We cant wait to return.
