  Beautiful spot!

  I would highly recommend this place if you are looking to stay somewhere on the Hemel en Aarde valley and also if you are looking for somewhere that is dog friendly. We brought our Jack Russell with and he absolutely loved it! Excellent value for money and the farm is beautiful!

  Had the makings of something great but fell short

  There was zero hospitality at High Season Farm. Infact from the moment we arrived we felt unwelcome and uncomfortable. Perhaps this was due to Covid but we felt we were at school and being shouted at by the principal on numerous occasions. Whilst I am very supportive of all covid restrictions and they had requested one to wear masks in public spaces which we adhered to, I do not feel it necessary to make an issue of it when someone is walking very early in the morning in a big field where there is no one else around at all beside for someone who drives past in their farm vehicle, with a mask over one ear as it had been removed to take a sip of coffee, This was one of a few encounters. We also watched from afar as other guests were picked out on many occasions . Regarding the hospitality, at no time did anyone ask how our stay was going or whether we needed anything. There was no little flyer telling you about the farm or where one can goes for walks on the farm. This would have been a helpful touch as we were told when booking that there were 40 hectares to explore however despite walking around I could not find any decent paths. We had to leave the farm to do anything, It was for this reason that we ended our stay early and found alternate accommodation close by. This was a costly exercise. I should also mention the dog policy. Pets are "welcome" but they need to be on a lease in public spaces and you need to watch them with the cows. This seems like a simple and easy request to follow however it was very stressful. The cottages have no fencing so unless your dog is locked in the house you have to watch it like a hawk as otherwise it runs into the fields and then you are going to get shouted at by the owners at best or there will be an issue with a cow. This made it very stressful for us. To be comfortable bringing a dog, it would be helpful if they could be contained within the small garden around ones cottage. The farm itself is very pretty but close to the road so you do hear the cars zooming on the road. The cottages are spacious and comfortable. I wouldn't call them stylish with any attention to detail but they have everything that one need and as a family of 4 we were not on top of each other at all. Overall we had a disappointing stay at High Season Farm.

  Great weekend getaway

  Great accommodation with everything we needed in the house. Plenty to do on the farm and in the area. Even without the wine farms being open. Relaxing environment with great views. Friendly staff. Even the cows are friendly.

  ALWAYS A PLEASURE

  We always enjoy High Seasons it is situated in a beautiful part of the valley convenient to numerous wine farms and restaurants it is well equipped and well run always clean and we love the Nguni cattle maybe walks could be better defined otherwise all great

  Mountain escape

  We had a wonderful relaxing time in a special spot in the Hemel and Aarde Valley. A great location and beautiful views and access to so much nearby. We cycled straight from our cottage and explored the trails both sides of the valley - a great breakaway!
