That was disappointingbooked a King Mountain View room for a kid free birthday weekend getaway through the resorts website. When we arrived we were happy to be able to check in early (1pm as opposed to the stated 4pm time) and were happy that there was a covered parking garage available for guest use. However, that is were everything stopped. When we arrived in oue room we found that we were not given the room we booked we were given a room with 2 queen beds, it did have a balcony and mountain view as we booked though. When we went back down to the front desk to explain tbe problem we were told that unfortunately the resort overbooked itself and the king room we reserved was not available for our stay, neither was any other king room. They did claim that the room we were now in was actually an upgrade from what was booked, though I don't see how. When I asked why we were never called, texted or even an email to be informed of this prior to us arriving, we were told that there should have been a call to us, unfortunately that didn't happen with no explanation as to why. The only thing they could offer at that time was to allow us to check out at no cost or penalty, they would not offer a comp or discount because according to them the room they gave us an upgrade already. We decided to think about it and did end up leaving. I could not see spending the amount of money they were charging and not getting the room we wanted. Luckily (though still a distance) we are about 2 hours away, so we walked the village for a bit, did some shopping and headed home for a nice birthday dinner and drinks out. The staff that we did deal with were nice enough. However the way this whole situation happened was just bad business and bad customer service!

Nice Facility - over pricedThis facility has nicely appointed rooms, yet lacks many basics of service. When we stayed here the hotel charged us a 'resort fee'. Yet, many of the restaurants were not open, the work out room was closed and the rooms were not fully serviced. The staff was minimally helpful. There are better places to spend this kind if money.

Great value and great for familiesStayed for 4 nights and really loved this place. Only 1 restaurant was open due to covid but we knew that going in. Had lots of separate areas in lobby for families to gather in small groups and relax. Rooms are very updated and hotel is very quiet even though it is pet friendly. We did not bring any pets. Had a slight issue with garbage not being emptied a couple times but overall no issues.

Over pricedThe hotel is located opposite to Lake Placid and at the end of the strip. The hotel is below average compared to other hotels that I have stayed at with comparable rates. It's definitely over-priced and out-dated. It was too noisy at the night.

Training issue?I remember staying at this hotel when it was Hilton. They did a complete reservation. It looks great. And it is very quiet and comfortable. The reception desk personnel are very attentive, especially Irish and Sarah(?) My friend and I ate at Dancing Bear restaurant for dinner on 1/20/21.That was a good experience.Breakfast on 1/22 was also positive. I forget our waiters name. He was very attentive and had an easy going personality. But breakfast on 1/22 was absolutely terrible. Three women, four tables and NO teamwork whatsoever. The blonde hostess sat us and did not take any kind of drink order like coffee or juice. We had an older waitress who took our order. After she served us,she did not come back to serve more coffee or any additional condiments we may have needed. There was another heavyset lady that had TWO tables and did not pay any attention to the other two tables as support. The blond hostess nearly stared out the window and appeared to be regulated to seating people. Our waitress seemed to have utter contempt for us. My friend left his seat to ask for the check and left the table to find her to pay. I very rarely complain. But this is a horrible way to run a business. Unless you run it into the ground.
