  Best place ever!

  Peter and Kelly are two very amazing individuals. The place is serene, beautiful and memorable in addition to a million other things. If you are looking for the best place to stay, this is the best place youll stay at ever. The view and location is perfect. It is close to pretty much everything except grocery stores so make sure to stock up before you arrive. Will definitely be returning to this amaziiiing place!!!

  Perfect family get-away

  Our family was looking for a secluded spot with individual cabins to accommodate our extended family for a week during this Covid summer. Peter was able to offer us three 2-bedroom cabins in close proximity on the lake. It was perfect! We each had our own comfortable, clean, air conditioned cabins, but we were able to eat and play together outdoors. We swam in the lake, canoed, took some beautiful hikes, and biked on the Lake George bike trail. Everyone loved it, including the 3 small children (2, 4, and 6 years old). A total success!

  Perfect spot for a getaway!

  From the time of booking to departing was awesome. Peter, his wife and daughter really make your stay enjoyable. The Hideaway is a great place to unwind and relax. Very family oriented and everyone is so friendly. Highly recommend staying here. Its amazing! Cant wait to go back!

  Family of 4 in late August

  We stayed in the Pine cottage Pros: Decent sized older cottage with 2 BR and 1 bath Plenty of privacy and great for Covid distancing Appliances and furniture are all functional Private lake dock with your own canoes and rowboat Had our own charcoal grill, fire pit and 4 outdoor chairs Good water pressure Lake Vanare is beautiful Only 10 minutes drive to Lake George Plenty of closet and pantry space Beds were comfortable Cons: WI-FI was very spotty Beach is calm but not that nice (mushy bottom) Very small shower stall and no bathtub Layout of cottage (bathroom cant be reached from 2nd BR without going thru 1st BR) Limited toiletries supplied No living room (only TV is in 1st BR) No A/C or ceiling fan in 2nd BR Limited activities (no swimming pool or nearby stores) Parking space was about 200 yards from our room (wheelbarrows provided)

  The best family getaway

  We have now gone 3 times this season and are trying to squeeze in one more before winter. I think that should tell you how much we love it here. First and foremost, Peter and Kelly are fantastic. Booking, checking in and out are effortless. The cabins are clean and have everything you need. We love the fact that you get your own fire pit and free use of canoes and row boats. The beach is a nice attraction and our kids love swimming in it. Hideaway truly gets its name from the seclusion you feel while staying there. Lake Vanare itself is amazing. Very family friendly. It's location is perfect being situated between Lake George and the attractions of Queensbury. However we rarely went to either since there is alot to do on the property.
