  Sand flies

  This park has recently been enlarged. The original section has mature landscaping but the new section has patchy grass and small trees. It will be some years before there is any useful shade. My following comments refer to the new section as this was were we were placed. The facilities are modern and clean. It took forever for hot water to come into the shower. So long in fact that I had started to shower cold. There are two barbecues that are in as new condition. I think this is because they dont work. The sites are poorly numbered. We had to get out of our motor home and search. We found faded numbers painted on the verge, often under over grown grass. There is WiFi but it is only available in the original section, near the pool. My wife asked the manager if there were sand flies. He said yes but then said they were low at the moment. He explained that their presence is dependent on the phase of the moon. The park does not allow pets. We were planning to stay for two days but chose to move after one.

  Sandflies

  Nice park & kind folks at reception. HOWEVER, the sandflies were atrocious. By the second night I had over 120 bites & was in tears from the discomfort. They werent interested in the rest of the fam, only me. We were supposed to stay longer but checked into a hotel early to escape.

  Powered ensuing site

  We recently stayed two nights on a powered ensuite site. The lady at reception was very friendly and kind. It is a large quiet and shady caravan park and close to travel into Darwin. The pool was great. Would stay again if we come to Darwin.

  Fantastic Fantastic Fantastic

  Stayed at Hidden Valley a couple of times. Have also had to stay in other Darwin parks when Hidden Valley has been booked out. Other parks seemed overly commercialised to us, whereas this one is quiet and tranquil and in tune with the greater environment. Our favourite place to stay in Darwin.

  Amazing service

  Due to a glitch with Tourism Top End, we arrived here the day before New Years Eve to discover that we didn't actually have a booking, despite making one and having confirmation of it. I wondered where we were going to stay in Darwin, thinking we would never find somewhere due to the time of year. As the office at the park was closed, I called the number provided and spoke to Dani who is an absolute legend. Not only did she reopen the office to come and assist us, she put us in a heavenly Rainforest Retreat villa for the night (best sleep I have had since being in the NT, over four months) and then got us into our originally booked accommodation the next morning. The room we had at the Pandanus Lodge was great as well (fantastic pillows) and very good value for money. Good location, conveniently 10 minutes to pretty much everything in Darwin by car. The camp kitchen was always clean, no issues with noise and the entire park is really pretty. This will be our go-to when we come to Darwin, both for the value and incredible service. Thank you again Dani, you have won over two very satisfied travellers!
