  Excellent Value

  With an ocean facing top floor view, this apartment was perfect for us. Kitchen had everything we needed and the living area was comfortable. Bed was a little soft. This property is only 3* but for what we got for the price was superb value. If you want luxury decor and fancy furniture its probably not for you, but if you want a perfect, clean base for your Gold Coast trip with fantastic hosts who cant do enough for you, then this is the place. Tim and Natalia are wonderful

  Excellent value for money

  Fantastic location on beautiful Broadbeach. Pristine water views and park across the road. Views are stunning. Building itself is dated but the rooms are very well appointed, modern furnishings, clean and tidy. Natalie and Tim are so friendly and helpful. Lovely people and make your stay feel personal We have stayed at HI Ho about 5 times now. Always a pleasure and look forward to our next visit

  Location

  Our 1 bedroom unit was very spacious and clean. Its in a great location, walking distance to restaurants and the beach. There is a cafe attached to the Accommodation which is great for an early morning coffee. Secure parking is included and the owners are helpful, friendly and delightful. Natalias art work is amazing.

  Honest Accommodation for an honest price.

  Our room 602 was on the top floor accessible by a new lift. Hi Ho are an older style low rise group of apartments ideally located just minutes from Kurrawa Surf Club and beach, dining options and supermarket. There is a tram stop at end of street to connect you north all the way to Helensvale and theme parks and rail that can then take you to Brisbane CBD. Or south 1 stop to Pacific Fair, and bus terminal for connection to airport. The lower tariff reflects rooms which are very basic in amenities. Washing machine yes, but no dryer in room. Microwave and 2 burner induction cooktop, but no range hood or oven. Old vertical blinds provided little in way of sunblock / heat block or privacy. There is a split system aircon unit with 1 head only. There probably needs another head unit in shower / bedroom area. If there is no wind for cross flow ventilation these rooms do suffer a little from heat and humidity build up. Only 1 towel rail in bathroom and an absence of any other hooks caused difficulty in hanging toilet bags, a second towel or bath mat. There was a brush and pan and broom, but I would have preferred a vacuum cleaner to keep unit sand free. Swimming pool was exceptionally clean, had no scum marks...big tick! and enough deck chairs to place either in the shade or sun as you prefer. Other pluses: Hosts Tim and Natalia are hospitable and have been at Hi Ho for 20 years, are helpful and maintain the older property well. We were able to secure Day Use at a cost for a later check out. This may not always be possible when occupancy is at 100%, but was much appreciated this time. Housekeeping excellent...rooms very clean on arrival. Glass surfaces....tables, mirrors were all sparkling....streak free, no easy feat in a humid climate. Tiled areas all felt clean when barefooted in the apartment. Undercover secure car parking was available, but we didn't require this. There is a restaurant downstairs, and when open was well patronized. I grabbed a coffee from them. Roasted beans sourced from Byron Bay, and was a good cuppa. No bitterness = Arabica and well made. All in all, a comfortable stay. For families and couples on a budget, then this is the place for you. Save your money to spend at any number of great restaurants and bars which are all within walking distance. If you want pampering and need more sophistication, spend upwards of $350 per night and search elsewhere. Thank you Tim and Natalia.
