  Scotland trip

  My daughter found this hotel on Tripadvisor with good reviews. We were very pleased with the accommodation. Close to everything we wanted to see and close to the train station to travel to Edinburgh. Staff was friendly, breakfast was great and the food at the bar was good. One employee, Scott, was great. Great place to stay if you're traveling around taking short trips to see the sights. Close to a couple of really good restaurants and there is a little mall around the corner to purchase items or have a cup of coffee.

  Ok

  So the hotel is in a housing estate of flats with a shopping centre down the road. The rooms are clean and tidy, my room a standard room has a small bathroom and even smaller single bed. The double room of my parents king size bed with luxurious bathroom so make sure you book a deluxe over a standard. Reception was very polite and recommended a excellent Italian (best Ive ever had in the uk) bar was open til 9pm on a Saturday night which in my opinion is very poor but hey ho. For a mid priced hotel with breakfast cant complain to much! Shame on location!

  Overnight stay

  Great wee hotel for a overnight stay its not fancy but the staff are really nice hotel is clean functional has what you need for a overnight the reception staff Stacey I think her name was was so nice and went above and beyond for my wife and I would recommend this wee place for an overnight stay its clean friendly and does what it says on the tin

  Cant knock it

  Stayed here with work for 4 nights arrived Sunday afternoon was a bit apprehensive but we found it no problem first impression wasn't good as its on housing estate but the inside was nice young girl on front desk pleasant but not over friendly told us straight away no food or bar that night got up for breakfast and we were suprised at the choice nothing to much trouble 2 lovely young ladies later on stacy and Emma they couldn't do enough to make you feel welcome attending to our every request a true asset to the hotel these girls would definitely recommend and will return next year for work hoping there still here

  Above and beyond

  Had the absolute pleasure of stay here for 1 night on the 2nd November, travelled through from Glasgow, called ahead to check in early which wasnt a problem. On check in, Stacey the receptionist was a real pleasure, so friendly and helpful. Room was spotless and bright with everything needed for an overnight stay. My husband wasnt joining me until later in the evening due to work commitments and while waiting on my lift to a family party I needed safety pins, had the pleasure of meeting Scott the chef who took the time to help Stacey find these for me, nothing was to much trouble, both of them even took the time to engage in conversation with me making me feel more at ease as I was on my own at this point. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area and keep up the good work Stacey and Scott, both a credit to the Helix
