  Okay for it's class...

  Sufficient hotel for its class but especially if you aren't staying in your room much. Clean enough but don't look too close. Quiet enough... Overall not a terrible choice but I'd look around at others next time.

  Capital hotel

  Ok hotel for a night stay over. Comfortable, very large room and bathroom. Breakfast was ok but after 2 weeks in Taiwan I have seen better. Unlike other reviews I found the staff to be friendly and helpful but then again I can open a door by myself and don't need some one else to do this for me.

  Pleasant hotel, conveniently located

  Back here again after 2 years and stayed here for a night. Room is generally clean with the necessary amenities. Although the breakfast selection is not wide, the food is tasty. However I noticed the front desk staff was not as friendly as what I remembered - could do better with more smiles and hint of friendliness to make the guests feel more welcomed.

  Value for money

  Like to stay at this hotel when I am in Taipei for work trips as it is located conveniently (walking distance to train station), and the rates are reasonable. Room is generally clean, equipped with the necessary amenities. Breakfast selection is not wide but still good.

  Dirty and very bad service and overpriced.

  1. Service is horrible. When we arrived at the hotel, no one is helping us with our luggages, even though i have my mom who is 87 years old with us. 2. We were told to pay at the time of checkin. I have travelled to many other places and this is the first time I was told to pay at the time of checkin. 3. When we tried to borrow a wheelchair, I was told the wheelchair is only for inside the hotel usage, and cannot be taken outside of the hotel. We were in The Riviera before moving to this hotel, and we were treated wonderfully overthere, where we were allowed to borrow the wheelchair for my mom for sightseeing. 4. Hotel smells cigarette and musty smells. First we were assign room 1004, it smells horrible and smells like a smoking room. We were shown other room and all rooms were all smells like a smoking room. Finally we took the 8004 room. I have daily headache due to the smell of the room. 5. I have dust mites allergy. As soon as I entered the room, I can't breath. That means the carpet is not clean for i don't know how many years 6. The bed caused back pain. it's sagging in the bottom and cause back pain 7. Breakfast buffet is horrible too. And for that they charged additional $30 / day. 8. The phone is our room was not working. We reported to the front desk. They did not fix our phone until our last day. 9. The TV in our room does not work. we don't bother to report it based on our experience with the phone. Overall, I will not recommend this hotel to anyone and would never go back. it's not even worth the $132 price that I paid. I would spend $20 more to stay in The Riviera Hotel.
