Nice HotelWe enjoyed our holiday at HEC Residence Hotel. All staff were really friendly and helpful. Thanks to all of them. The content of the buffet breakfast and dinner were adequate. The only problem was that the hotel pool and the bar on the terrace were not active. They showed us an alternative pool but not effective for us with our child. View from the balcony was great.

The best thing about this hotel is the secret beach passes to The Hotel Maestral section half price! This is a clean, air conditioned hotel and the food is adequate. You can buy dinner for 12 euro per person. We had breakfast included in the price of the room. The staff were helpful and friendly and our room was cleaned to a good standard every day. The pool and the roof top bar are not as advertised however. Don't spend your time by the pool. Instead, walk into Sveti Stefan via the coastal path. There are lots of restaurants which look out onto the famous Aman resort in Sveti Stefan and you can walk there in about 20/30 minutes. It's a lovely walk. My recommendation if you want to look out onto this beautiful island but not blow the entire budget is Olive restaurant (see my other review). There is a market on the way to the beach where you can buy sun cream as well as food/drink. To get to the beach you walk down the stairs outside the hotel (there's a sign) and it only takes about 5 minutes. But I am going to let you in on what seems to be a secret...there are three passes per day for half price Hotel Maestral beach sunbeds. You will see when you get there that Hotel Maestral owns most of the beach and so the remainder of the beach (for the rest of the hotels including HEC Residence) is very cramped. The half price ticket makes 2 sun beds and an umbrella 35 euro instead of 70. This also comes with waiter service, I would whole heartedly recommend trying to get your hands on one of these passes (especially if you can split the price between the pair of you) as the alternative is a tiny section of the remainder of the beach and you are all crammed in like sardines. Go to the reception and ask for the pass and they will tell you what you need to do to get them validated at Hotel Maestral. It's a bit of a faff but entirely worth it. This was the best part of my stay at HEC residence. We didn't find out about these passes until the second day (the hotel doesn't seem to advertise them very well!) and it made the world of difference to our trip. I don't know why there are only three passes available. If you miss out on a pass and can't afford to pay 70 euro then a bus will take you to other beaches quite easily (and very cheaply). Enquire at the hotel reception for nearby beach options but try your best to get your hands on one of those passes. The Hotel Maestral beach was the best beach experience we had in Montenegro within our price range (and we made our way to Budva after Sveti Stefan). The Budva beaches were much more crowded than the Hotel Maestral beach and the other options in Sveti Stefan can be 100 euro plus! The sea is crystal clear and you don't need swim shoes. It's beautiful and very relaxing. Good luck!

GoodStaff is kind, professional and good. Rooms are beautiful and clean. Hotel is next to the road so be careful whan you are on the street. Great view and open pool on the top of the hotel. Great for the business meetings.

stunning viewsStayed for two weeks August 2018. Really enjoyed our selves. Rooms ok, AC fine. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Lovely walk to Sveti Stefan. Once swimming pool sorted would visit again Breakfast on the terrace most mornings very nice Be careful crossing the road tho as we found that was the best way to get to Przno. Thank you all for a lovely stay. Wine and chocolates you presented us with on leaving very enjoyable

Zero StarJoined a tour group from Hong Kong to Budva, I was given the room 104. The room was completely worn out! Shower room door was broken, hair dryer was broken, the towel was worn out, the carpet was so dirty that I even didn't want to put my luggage on it! This is completely a Zero star hotel!
