  A beautiful spot to enjoy the quiet of the North Woods

  The 600 acre property is pristine and the lodging and food make this a great place, but its the staff that makes it world class! We stayed in a duplex which accommodated our group in high style. It is perfect for a family vacation, a business retreat or a destination for wedding or reunion.

  New Years Eve dinner

  This was a special event dinner. As we were served, the chef explained how each entre was prepared. From the appetizer baguette, salad, sauteed shrimp, squash soup, & beef on rice we were so impressed. The meal was paired with 3 different wines. We loved this meal.

  Great getaway for groups.

  Heartwood service and facilities are excellent and the setting beautiful. The cabins are clean and lovely (though seating a bit uncomfortable). The ski trails will take you through some beautiful scenery, though are not always well groomed. In short, this is a perfect getaway for a group of people, family or friends. Call ahead to ask about grooming.

  You won't be disappointed at Heartwood!

  Heartwood is a warm and enriching place to gather with friends, family, or solo to unwind from our busy lives. There are lots of areas to gather in and around the resort. We loved the view of the lake from our room. Very easy access to trails for cross country skiing and snowshoeing. Friendly staff is the added plus to make this a perfect vacation spot. We highly recommend Heartwood!

  Horrible management and billing

  Unprofessional and unorganized management. I booked rooms under one name and used one card to reserve the rooms. When checking inthey had requested a credit card to HOLD the room and assured us that the rooms would not be charged on card. Before we even checked out they had put charges on the card that was only used to HOLD. when checking out, i gave them the card that was originally supposed to be charge on. They reverse the charges on the card that was only for HOLD and then they charged the same card again a week later. i had to call them again a week later to ask them to reverse the fee and put it on the correct card. They gave me the go around that their manager wasnt there or that their system could not do it. i had to call multiple times through out the week until I got a hold of the manager. it has been two weeks since our stay and I am still trying to fix the charges on my card. DO NOT GIVE THEM A CARD TO HOLD. THEY KEEP ALL THE CREDIT CARD INFORMATION! AND WILL CHARGE IT AT ANYTIME. IM SURE ITS ILLEGAL FOR THEM TO HAVE YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION STORED!
