  Lovely stay in the forest

  We stayed here for a conference so cost was included. Very welcoming though we all spoke English and all the info in and about the hotel and menus was only in German. We had one of their disabled friendly rooms and the bathroom was quite roomy with an open shower with grab bars and a bench, along with a wand shower. Plenty of closet space. Meals were served in a sunroom (though we didn't see much sun). Typical food of the region -- pork, salmon, sausages, cheeses, potatoes (in many forms), and some game. Extensive buffet breakfast -- more cheeses and sausages than I could name -- plus cereals, bread, yogurt, etc. They also have cabins aperture from the main hotel. Short walk into town.

  Peace and Tranquility

  I recently stayed here for 5 nights with quite a large party of people on an English Immersion Course. The hotel coped extremely well with our group and the fact that we were constantly talking in English!! They were great sports and very friendly and helpful. We had three meals a day and the meals were all really good and plentiful. Breakfast was the best meal of the day with such a variety of cold meats and cheeses (including some from the local area) there was even smoked salmon in occasions as well as a choice of fruit and yoghurt and lovely breads (my downfall Im afraid!). My room was fairly small but very quiet and had plenty of hanging space, I gather some of the other rooms were much larger with a seating area too, I had a small problem with the shower but the staff sorted this out first thing on the Monday morning. There is a small spa in the hotel and although I didnt get to use it several of our group did and they said it was great and a lovely place to wind down after a lot of walking and talking. The hotel also has a deer park and it was lovely to look out of the hotel and see these wonderful animals on a daily basis, there are also goats and boars there too, in the winter there is also a ski slope and most of the photos Ive see of the hotel show this in the winter months surrounded by snow. The location is lovely, great for walking through the forest and the fields and only a short walk into Benneckenstein, which has some lovely buildings and a small park in the centre as well as a wells stocked supermarket and for some reason an abundance of beauty shops and nail bars! I would highly recommend this hotel for a nice quiet relaxing break in the German countryside.

  Clean Comfortable Lodging in Harz Mountains

  Stayed there for a week with a linguistic program. Hotel very clean and staff helpful though had limited English. Food was very good. Nice walking paths nearby. Don;t miss the deers in the bin. Venision was excellent.

  Hotel Harzhaus, Beeneckstein

  Lovely quiet location. Stayed in main hotel several times where some rooms.can be on small side especially with two dogs - stayed in log cabin this time - very big much better. Good evening meal - well presented local German dishes. Good value for money. Ideal for walking in Oberharz. On cost versus comfort versus hotel standard I like this hotel and had no dislikes
