  Decent Room.. horrible neighbors!

  Cheapest place for the night.. didn't really like the neighborhood. The ppl above us were loud! At least the lady who checked us in was nice. The room was updated. Wished they had more towels available. We will not be staying here again..

  Run-down, crime infested motel and neighborhood

  Upon driving up to the Harris Motel, I noticed a lot of patrons standing outside drinking and potential illegal activities happening right in front of the Harris Motel. I also noticed the neighborhood looked pretty sketchy and scary for two young females. I was traveling along with my best friend and we did not feel safe staying at this location. Therefore, I went to the front desk and asked the agent if I could cancel because I booked by accident and that I didn't feel safe staying due to all the illegal activities that was going on upon our arrival. He advised me to call Travelocity and to deal with them because I originally booked through their website. I called back Travelocity and was placed on hold once more and the CS advised me that the hotel did NOT give the approval for me to cancel the reservation even though it had been no more than 15-20mins from me making it online accidentally. I asked to escalate the call to a manager and was transferred several times and call disconnected on numerous attempts as well. I was stuck in a city that I wasnt familiar with and desperately tried to get someone on the phone to assist me. I made calls from 5:30pm all the way up until 7:45pm to (855-201-7800 Travelocity CS number) trying to get someone to help me (see attached cellphone usage details supporting call attempts). In summary, I was very disappointed because Travelocity should always keep consumers safety as a priority. It is unfortunate that a reputable company like Travelocity will not stand behind customers safety. Travelocity should not affiliate itself with any hotel or motel that conducts illegal activities such as: prostitution, drug dealing, and drinking alcohol in front of premise. These establishments should NOT be an option for consumers to book online. I was charged $115.83 immediately by the Harris Motel and they have REFUSED to refund my money. I end up booking at an over-night stay at a safer establishment Lion Hotel that same day. I am disputing the $115.83 charge on my visa debit card ending in 0073. I did not stay at this hotel due to safety reasons and online booking mistake and therefore should not incur fees associated with service that wasnt used due to reasons beyond my control. Both Travelocity and Harris Motel have refused to provide me a refund. They both keep telling me I have to get approval from the other party. It is pointless and unfortunate.   Impressed

  I was debating whether or not to get a room here. For some reason I felt it wouldn't be up to date with regards to room equipment; i.e tv, beds, carpet, etc.. That it also wouldn't be well taken care of. Come to my surprise, the room turned out pretty good. I was very anxious to first open the door haha. But they did a satisfactory job with the rooms

  Noisey Neighbors Bad Area

  This place would have been bearable if it werent for the NOISEY tenants and their screaming children. This motel has weekly renters. The walls are paper thin and you can smell cigarette and marijuana smoke through them. The front desk clerk was nice but the rooms were very run down. The bathroom seemed to be renovated but nothing else. You also cannot cancel your reservation once youve made it, please head my warning! My husband and I had to bear two of our five nights of vacation before we could book a different room elsewhere.

  Smoker's Rooms - Great Stay in the Area

  The rooms are pretty standard and cozy, but the bathrooms have been beautifully updated. Rooms may be a little small, but are always kept super clean. The beds are very comfortable, and the headboards are lined with mirrors for romantic fun. The rooms and bathroom amenities are very welcoming to weary travelers after a long day of driving. Keep in mind that these are smoking rooms. Very convenient for some, but just be aware if you do not like the smell or are travelling with children. The inside is definitely a wonderful contrast to the outdated exterior. Oakland is a pretty bad neighborhood in general from what I've seen, but this is more of a hidden gem in the rough. One night were were the last guests to arrive for the night and they asked if we would be going out again, as they lock the parking lot once all guests are in for the night. This made us feel very safe, not many places around here had free parking on the premises, so to add the extra safety of the locked gate was awesome. The staff is very friendly, and also very accommodating to our requests for extra towels and also when we needed a late check out during one stay. We feel very welcome here and have returned a few times whenever we drive through this area, we always recommend this place to friends who may be going up or down the coast.
